2002 Yamaha 350 Wolverine will not start.

i bought a 2000 yamaha wolverine 350 and it will not fire i ohmed the pickup coil and getting like 25 ohms so that tells me it is bad now into my big problem the pickup coil is pressed into the stator where as the aftermarket versions are bolt on the stator is good but the pu coil is bad can someone please tell me how do u fit this new pu coil onto my old stator

If you want to try it, you could drill out the press rivets and try bolting the new pickup onto your old stator. I would use lock nuts and/or some red locktite to make sure every thing stays in place. The most tricky part of this will be making sure that you have the proper air gap between the pickup and the flywheel. So measure the gap before you remove the old pickup and do your best to keep that same gap when you put the new one on.

I understand completely why you don't want to replace the whole assembly when only the pickup is bad. Even though it may not be recommended by some, I would try it myself before dropping $500 on a whole new unit. BTW, I am moving this thread into the Yamaha forum.
