i have a 08 raptor 700 and im running a rev max cdi. i would like to change back to the stock cdi but the problem is it wont work. i tried my friends cdi also and it wont work but they both work on his quad. his cdi has always been stock. my other friend has a procom cdi and i tried the 2 stock ones on his quad also and they wont work. is it possible the aftermarket cdi has changed somthing to make stock ones not work? everyone i talk to said they have never heard of this happening

I think that is really strange, you may need to replace the entire ignition to get it to work, or at least maybe the pickup coil or ignition coil or something. Why do you want to go back to the stock CDI?

i have a power commander and a quick shifter i want to use and they say dont use it with the aftermarket cdi because it has fuel adjustments on it also. when it was on the dyno he cant get it to tune in right on the low end and he thinks its the cdi causing the problem

just noticed when i plug the stock cdi in it shoots a code 33 which is ignition or possible cdi box problem, but like i said my friends quad runs fine with this cdi. is there any way a aftermarket cdi can mess up somthing somewhere else in the ignition?

With electronics, anything is possible, making these kinds of problems hard to diagnose. The best advise is going to come from someone who has had the same or similar problem and got through it. Is there a hard reset procedure you can do to reset the ECU?

I recently purchased a raptor 80 for my grandson for  christmas. I am trying to make sure it is running properly. i have rebuilt the carb and adjusted the carb idle then the mixture to middle of where it runs rough and it runs great for about a min or 2. then it stalls out. I can usually choke it and it will start so i feel it is lacking fuel. the fuel shutoff valve has been changed and i checked it for good fuel flow.  any ideas of what to check next. I am planning to vfy fuel float height tomorrow. I visually checked it by turning carb upside down when i had it apart and it looked level. any ideas are appreciated.

      Thanks.

Hisun 700 EFI. Replaced TMAP sensor had broken off . Fuel pump pressure 41psi. The only way I can keep it running (and runs fine) is to close off fuel return line.

This thing came with a cheap aftermarket carb on it the problem I'm having is it won't start with choke installed into carburetor it will start and get run without it installed then bogs out after about 2 min run time I've checked timing , compression, checked valves for proper clearance , also did a smoke test for air leaks found none.

I got a 2005 350 Raptor Special Edition and I'm dealing with a no start issue; the weirdest thing is when I'm cranking it fires and slows down showing signs of pre firing, smoke shoots out the carburetor every time it sparks. every electrical part (CDI, Rectifier, Stator, Coil) has been swapped out from previous owner, the top end of the engines all new and I cleaned the carb out, anyone got any ideas or similar problems, also is it possible to have a bad spark timing

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?
