hey guys im new on here. currently i have a kawasaki tecate 4 but its been blown up for about 6 months. in the past ive had a yamaha warrior, blaster, kx 80, rm 125 and kdx 200.

Ive been looking at 4 wheelers and i need help on what to get ive got it narrowed down to 2.

from above u should be able to determine my experience is kinda high.

both these bikes are the same price.

1st bike: a 1997 yamaha banshee. highly modified. cool head, widened, air shocks, slightly bored, many other mods. needs orings for cool head 18 dollars.

2nd bike: a 1987 honda trx250r. needs nothing few mods.

I have friends with Pumped Banshee....Trust me....They work on them more than they ride....But when they are running they are pretty much untouchable....If it were me.....I woud just rebuild the T4..Or go with the ol TRX.....I have friends with those too and they have been reliable and Bullet proof....Plus....Like the T4's,,,,Kinda Rare....Everyone has a Banshee to pull up on....

I agree, if it were me, I would either re-build the Tecate, or go with the Honda. Or maybe get the Honda and keep the T-4 to fix up later on. Not only are they more reliable than a Banshee IMO, there is only one cylinder to worry about so maintinence costs are going to be a bit lower. However, if you just want the fastest thing you can buy, a highly modded Banshee is the best bet.

I think you should get a newer bike then those ones...get a 2001 or 2002 raptor 660, they'll rock your socks off and you can pick 'em up for around 2800$. i got the raptor 700 and its a BEAST!!!!!!!

Fixing for a friend. Atv was at a different friends house to be fixed and he rebuilt the carb and had it running nice, then it shut off and no more. He replaced the key and the coil.

So he got busy, so I am helping, I checked the wiring from the stator to the cdi, and from the cdi to the coil. All is good. I checked resistance on the pickup coil, good, and on the source coil, open. I buy a new stator (China) and the 4 prong plug only has 3 wires in it while mine has all 4. I checked resistance in the source coil and it's in the 300's. I pulled one of the old pickup wires out of the old stator and wire it in the new one. Still no spark.

Why do the wires differ, I checked the VIN again and it's "J" for the year and I got a 1988 stator. Please help!

Hi everyone and thanks for reading.
My husband and me are getting ready to host the 2nd Quad Runners event at our nudist campground. The first one (last year) went pretty well with about 20 quads attending and have to say, it was a smaller group, but they made up for their size with the large interest in partying and there was plenty of nudity as the Saturday night went on.
We have decided to host another one this summer, but we are looking for some fun (but safe) riding events. Our grounds are almost all flat and remember we are a nudist campground so many of us are bare as* naked so "slow ride" events would be the best.
Give us your thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask us anything you would like, and we will answer right here in the thread.
Thanks for your help and ride safe.
BTW, let us know what "anything goes" means for this thread section.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!
