I'm looking for some advice on re-building my front axles on a 2002 Suzuki Quadrunner (ltf500f) My left front outer joint sounds like a popcorn machine when I make a sharp turn. I looked on Ronnies and they want $429 each for a complete shaft so that is out of the question! :aargh: Has anyone here fixed their shafts on an "as needed" basis? I generally use the quad to plow snow and for yard clean-up in good weather. I just recently put a set of ITP Mudlite XTR's on for plowing, so I'm sure they "helped" the shaft fail due to the extra stress from the added traction. I'd like to hear your story about re-building your axles. Thanks.

I would throw some gorilla's or tuners axles in to eliminate future problems. My .02 cents! But if you are wanting to just repair OEM, they have step by step instructions on rebuilding cv axles on youtube! That is how I learned to mess with mine.

Paul is the owner of the site, and he can get you a good price on aftermarket axles / OEM rebuild kits! Just tell him that Birddog4x4 sent you.

Looks like the outer cage cracked. I cut the boot clamps and slid the boot up the shaft to inspect it. The outer cage is broken into 2 peices. all the balls are still in place, thats definately the source of the noises. I greased the heck out of it and put some old style clamps back onto the boot. Looks like a rebuild is in order. :realmad: They don't look too hard to do, finding the right parts might be a challenge. Hopefully it makes it until spring. :skeptic:

Sorry, I wasn't sure how busy this forum was so I put it in the AG.

First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?

Recently picked up a 1991 Lt230e for repair. Compression is a little low Id say, around 80psi, I also have spark but the spark is odd . When cranking the spark is a constant arc. I’ve got it to sputter but never fully turn on. I believe the spark is my issue, being constant and not detonating at the right time. I’m not sure whether this issue is an electrical fault like some missing ground, a faulty cdi, or a timing issue. Any ideas where I should start?

I recently purchased a complete lt230s for$50. It was missing the kick starter gears which I got off eBay for $18. I’m trying to install the gears which after reading different threads about having it timed. I have it all timed but now it acts like engine is seized up but I know it’s not. What could be going on??? Any insight would greatly be appreciated.
