I need help making my predator 500 faster

hi i have a 2007 polaris predator 500. it currently has.

-trinity stage 4 exhaust

-170 main jet

-15 tooth front sprocked (for more topend)

-shaved front fenders.

i just do NOT get it. i clocked it and it redlines at only 78mph. i want to do over 80 but still have good acceleration and be within a budget. can anybody have any suggestions of what else i should do?

78mph isn't bad considering you don't have alot done to it, and most other sport quads don't go any faster than that without a good bit of money dumped into them. 80mph without just gearing it up will take a few bucks. A good bigbore kit may give you the extra grunt you need to properly pull the tall gearing you are already running, that will probably get you over 80mph.

I think a more aggressive cam along with a new CDI box that allows for a higher rev will get you there.

That would probably do it too, depending on how much over-rev you get, you may even be able to get your low end back by dropping your front sprocket down to stock size and still be able to stay over 80 on the top end.

Most CDI boxes increase the rev about 800 to 1000 RPM's. An increase of 1000 RPM's on the Rhino without a more aggressive cam put the top speed from 42 to 51mph. JUST CHANGING THE CDI.

I am thinking that a new CDI may be my next investment.
