got it running new cdi coil and stator will idle good but when u give it throttle it will take off but then will bog down but if you put it on jack stand in the rear it will rev up good with the tires spinning only bogs under load have removed carb and cleaned did find that the pilot jet was clogged and cleaned it main jet is clear and open any ideas

I have a 2003 predator 500 that is a real pain to get started when cold. If I can get it started at all. It has spark, is getting fuel, and cranks like normal. I have disassembled and cleaned the carb. Have also tried switching out the carb. No noticeable change in attempting to start. Have swapped out spark plug and made sure the gap is set correctly. Have looked at fuel pump and appears to be in working order. Have taken to air tube off and noticed a lot of back pressure out of carb. Does anyone have any advise for me or come across the same symptoms?

Hi all hoping I can get some help from this outstanding forum I have a Polaris predator 90 it starts no problem shifts and runs in forward like a champ, when I shift into reverse it does not even feel like it shifts there is no clunk or noise and nothing happens upon acceleration and all ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, hoping I can get this fixed for my nephew thanks all in advance

Hello i have a 03 polaris predator 500 sprt quad. Can anyone tell me why my rear brakes rattle? They operate fine I just am wondering what part to replace.

I have a 2003 Polaris predator. Been sitting for about 6-7 months. Put brand new gas in it, new plug, cleaned the carb. Starts up no problem. Idles well. As soon as I put it in first and release the clutch to ride it, it rides but kind of bucks a little. Like its not getting fuel. As I give it gas it like sputters and breaks up. If I stop put it in neutral it idles perfect. Any suggestions?? Thanks

Hi: Just acquired a 2003 predator 90 and bought some Polaris injection oil (VES) and gear oil (AGL) from the dealer to the tune of $15 per quart for each type. Anyone know of more reasonably priced alternatives?? Thanks, Rick

ok so i got this predator for 600 said it needed a timing chain but here is the kicker its not a 500 it is a 450 none of the parts fit wtf lol does anyone know of a 450 kit for this i used to be a banshee guy but now i have a predator what did i get myself into:aargh:

Where do I find 04 polaris predator troy lee parts? Like plastics, seats, gas tanks, shocks...etc. Its time to repair and Im trying to get it back to mint condition.

Ok so I'm about 90% sure that I I'm gonna go pick up a 2004 Polaris Predator 500 this weekend but I want to get some advice/help before I did. Its pretty beat up but I'm not too worried about cosmetics, I was just wanting to know durable they are mechanically, its a great price at $1200 but I talked down to $1000. I have a 2001 250EX and have drug it through hell and back and it just won't break. Seems like the harder I ride it the stronger it gets lol. I wanna just make sure that the Pred isn't Junk. The guy that has it told me he jetted and bored it also. But for $1000 its gonna be pretty hard to turn down. Anything helps

hi i have a 2007 polaris predator 500. it currently has. -trinity stage 4 exhaust -170 main jet -15 tooth front sprocked (for more topend) -shaved front fenders. i just do NOT get it. i clocked it and it redlines at only 78mph. i want to do over 80 but still have good acceleration and be within a budget. can anybody have any suggestions of what else i should do?

Ok, i have a 2007 polaris predator 500 and it needs an engine upgrade. i already have a trinity stage 4 exbaust, 15 tooth sprocket and shaved fenders. its not enough juice, so im looking into the 558 bbk. the kit will come with a 12:5 compression piston, sleeves, pins and the whole 9 yards. ive looked up you need to run a carb from a trx450r, is this true? and does the carb have to be year specific? how much would it cost for everything to be installed? and can you run 93 octane pump with this big bore?

hey guys i have a 2007 polaris predator 500 with a trinity stage IV exhaust system on it and the jetting has been set to 170 on the main. would i be considered running lean? i took out my old spark plug, which had a peanut butter color, and my new spark plug is a dark gray on the base but theres no white on it.

Hi all, I recently picked up a 2003 Predator 500 for my wife with the Pure Polaris (White Brothers) slip on exhaust. The head pipe is stock and in pretty rough shape. I have tracked down a Big Gun head pipe for a decent price, but I need to know if the Big Gun head pipe will work with the Pure Polaris exhaust. Thanks in advance for your help Dan

i recently got the news that someone tried stealing my brothers 450r and my predator! its the worst feeling ever! anyone have suggestions on booby traps to make so i can catch these theifs or scare them away for GOOD!? if you ever decide to steal a quad, think about how you would feel if yours was stolen.

ok ive been going crazy the last few days trying to figure out whats wrong with my predator! since i leave the bike at my dads house someone there left the red kill switch on. we bought a new battery and put it on but that didnt work and we tried 20 minutes later and it worked! we disconnected the positive wire to the battery and left it. the next day i tried starting it and it wouldnt do anything! no noise, no light, nothing! any ideas?

im wondering how i can adjust my fox shocks on my predator to lower the quad! i am new to the adjustable shock world since my 400ex shocks were stock! any help would be greatly appreciated!

well when i bought my quad my buddy had broke the ignition when it was rolled yea i know sucks right but it runs and drives fine the like cluster w. the key and temp and neutral light its just smashed so i took it off but i wanted to put a tether kill switch in for a key right now i just have the 2 red wires crossed and its always on if i hit the kill switch it shuts it off so the battery wont die anyways i took the tether kill switch off my blaster (2 stroke) and went to put it on my 2003 predator (4 stroke) and they work the opposite =( when the tether is pulled on the 2 stroke it makes a connection (im guessing short to ground) which kills the ignition but on the predator it needs to make an open cause these 2 wires need to have power flowing through them to have the ignition on so i ask has anyone installed a tether kill switch on there 4 stroke? and any tips or does anyone have acces to a wiring diagram for a predator ignition sry for such a long post:confused:

i just got a 2003 predator 500 its got a k/n filter and the polaris pure pipe so im guna assume its jetted to go along with those i gota couple questions how often do i need to change the oil on this thing i adjusted the rear chain and cranked those two bolts to tighten the carrier, and rode for a good 5 hours and it was loose by the end of the day, i was thinking of making a wood wedge or something to prevent the axle for rotating back to the loose position (hard to explain sorry) and lastly that polaris pure exhaust sounds good but is just a little too loud i know some exhausts have like adjustable baffles you can take out or add more can i quite this thing down without having to buy another silencer? thing goes like a raped ape i love it!!!!

hello i recently picked up an 03 polaris predator 500 what are some good mods to do to get some more low end torque out of it. It has an fmf slip on and supposedly a jet kit other than that it's all stock.

some man that lives by me is selling an 03 polaris predator 500 that needs work he said it needs the carburator rebuilt , the ignition swich , and the stator cover is it worth it if hes asking $500 bucks for it i saw it today and is kinda rough seat is sun faded has some cracked fairings and missing one headlight should i buy and what should i look for when buying it how much is it going to take me to get it running?

i have a 2003 predator 500 and the timing keeps jumping off time the tensioner is good but i have scuffed many parts over this deal. i need parts and help any sugestions???? i need a set of valves and a piston and sleeve all standard bore.
