2001 Yamaha Kodiak spurting gas into air cleaner

I have this Kodiak that never gives me any problems. I havent started it in 3 months and now its spurting gas (brownish crud) out of the tube that goes into the air cleaner chamber when I sprayed some starting fluid into the carb....What should I do? I guess draining the gas would be the first thing, gotta look at it in the am and see if I can figure it out.....any suggestions?????

Just from the experience I had with mine putting fuel in the intake box, I would pull the bottom of your carb and make sure your float isnt sticking. May want to pull the carb and clean it. Make sure to pull the jets and take a small piece of wire (bread wrapper) and clean in each one and then blow it out with the compressor.

My Yamaha Kodiak 450 I used to have, had an issue with the float sticking because of a corroded float pin.

Thanks guys, I drained the gas changed the filter and put in new gas and its fineagain ....Thanks !
