hey guys im new to this place and i hope u guys can help me. i did look at sum forums but nothing to what i am experincing i got a 91 kingquad 300 i rebuilt the carb i got the needle jet bck out 2 turns after it was fully in. and i got the air mixture screw all the way in and if i try to start it without doin nothing it wnt do nothing choke in or out. if i take my finger and hold the slider half way up she will crank and idle high but thats bc of the mixture screw all the way up but soon as i let it drop she cuts off  but as long as i hold the slider up she will stay cranked. i did take the bowl cover off and saw 2 little pin holes in the rubber gasket for the bowl i dnt know whats its called but i guess it does sumthn with air.i need it to stay idle so i can set my mixture screw. i got good spark, fuel is pumping, i looked at the intake boot no cracks or anything there, but just those 2 lil pin holes on the bowl gasket will that make it not stay idle? i rebuilt the carb bc it was extremely hard to start.it does smoke when its started which is a lil aggrevating but i just wanna get it running right now, and i need a seal for the compression switch it leaks a lil oil but not a biggie. i need help guys and im mechanically inclined but hvnt done much 4wheeler wrk but lots of auto wrk so im sure its understandable

I have a 2007 kingquad 450 fuel injection. I try to start it with the hand crank and almost flip over the quad. I have taken the hand crank off and cleaned it but this did not fix the problem. I believe there is a decompression valve that is supposed to engage when pulling it over by hand. How can I check this?

      I wanted to share a successful workaround for a "no-spark" issue on a 2009 LT-A400.
This is specifically for cases where the CDI has been diagnosed as faulty, but the age or condition of the machine makes the cost of a brand-new OEM unit hard to justify.
Note: This modification compromises the factory “no-start” circuits.
On some malfunctioning CDI units the internally damaged circuitry is only partial.
Feeding full time power to the Parking Brake pin, the unit is triggered to bypass the internal fault and produce a healthy consistent output to the Ignition coil.
      The Modification
See the second diagram attached below for the wiring specifics.
      The Result:
The machine has clocked over 1,000km since this repair and is still running strong with no ignition dropouts.
      ⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING ⚠️
Please be aware that this modification compromises the factory safety "no-start" circuits.
The machine will now start in gear. The safety interlock involving the handbrake is no longer functional. The machine can move unexpectedly if the starter is pressed while in gear. Proceed at your own risk. If you sell the machine or let others ride it, ensure they are fully aware that these factory safety buffers have been removed.

HI everyone. New to this forum. I have 98 Kawasaki Bayou 400 with an apparent electrical issue. I have the Clymer manual, but I am not exactly sure where to start. The issue started a month ago and the neutral light would go on and off intermittently. Eventually it went completely off , and I thought it was a shifting issue. I took the case off and checked the clutch and all mechanical shifting components are good, so I think I eliminated that. The switch sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Last time I tried, I did hear a clicking sound near where the battery is right before the light went out. Does anyone have any ideas where to start? Hoping this is an easy fix.

Hi All.  I introduced myself some weeks ago with my 2006 LT-F400F that needed a list of repairs including replacing the cracked generator cover.  It is back together as of last night and cranks up, idles and revs high pretty well.  Needs some fine tuning and stop backfiring at stop.
The big issue is it will not go into gear.  I reassembled the insides with help from y’all’s posts.  The transfer selector moves from H-L-R, and the foot shifter moves thru the gears and finds neutral easily enough.  Before I tear it back open, the  transfer selector on top does not move as far as the repair manual says.  The diagram shows the shaft moving something like 40 degrees between L and H and 50+ degrees between L and R but it doesn’t move that far even though it finds the indent areas and moves well.
Could this be the problem.  I aligned all the dots on the shifter gears inside and it appeared to not be binding anywhere.  I do hear the gears touching when I shift like they are trying to engage, but zero movement from the ARV
It was somewhat difficult to tell whether all the parts are installed on each shaft.
Are there better/bigger photos somewhere that would allow me to be confident I included all the washers and bushings, etc?  If I had any doubt on parts that were laying inside after the cover broke then I purchased replacements from online stores.
TIA for any input or feedback!!  Pics are from when I first took the generator cover off.
