96 Yamaha Big Bear 350 - Rear final drive had no oil

Can any body help with what to check in the final drive/rear end

And it only runs with the choke on?????????????????????????????????

Just got 96 bb350se4x4 guy was riding. Got it home the rear end had no oil can u tell me what to check to see how hurt it is? And only runs with choke on?

probably carb needs good clean or rebuild kit, sae 80 for rear diff. i'd try putting oil in diff and running it and seeing if it is ok, no noise etc... you might have got lucky...

For the carb, there was a posting / thread about Ethanol Shield . Its avail at walmart or home depot. Any equipment with a small engine that comes into my shop that runs rough, the first thing we do is pour in ethanol shield. It cures most of the running and idling problems. There is also a bigger bottle called mechanic in a bottle. Try those first before the carb tear down

Rear end is fill of mud and dirt bearing r gone but all gears look good

Think I'm going to try replacing bearing and seals
