  1. Spilled some motor oil on the front porch.....does that powdery chemical used for garage floors work well for wood too? Tom D
  2. Hi All, Has anyone found engine oil in their air filter box. The must be little or no baffle between crankcase ventilation and that hose that attaches to the air filter box. I went to pick up my ATV today 60 miles away that they could not fix the jerky low speeds on and before I loaded it decided to check on this. Sure enough there was a good coating of oil with some pooling in the bottom of the air filter box. The air filter has oil on it too but is it a dry element or oiled element type. My guess from the color of it dry. I heard on a comment on my YT videos that there is a kit for this issue? Is this a CFMOTO fix? Thanks Kevin
  3. I'm going into my '11 Grizz 700 to adjust valve clearance for the first time and when I button everything back up I'll be replacing all the gaskets / o-rings. The 5 I'll be replacing include (from the top down) both valve cover gaskets, cylinder head cover gasket, and the 2 gaskets in the crankcase cover. Do I need to coat these gaskets with motor oil before putting them on like when replacing your oil filter?
  4. Have a 2011 Grizz 700 and for the diff oil the manual calls for SAE 80 API GL-4 hypoid gear oil. I'll be using Mobil 1 synthetic but as it comes in two different weights I'm not sure which one to get....either the 75W-90 or the 75W-140. The 75W-90 is listed as GL-5 and is recommended for use in 'high-performance vehicles like SUVs, vans and light duty trucks.' The 75W-140 weight is also GL-5 and is recommended for 'high-performance vehicles including sport utility vehicles, vans and light-duty trucks.'

  6. Doing the first big maintenance on the old 2011 700 Grizz and have a couple q's. I've been told that Hondas take only a certain type of coolant and now I'm wondering about my Yamaha. Is there a certain type of coolant I need to look for or will general coolants be good enough? And second...I'm gonna use the No Toil stuff to clean and oil my air filter. Are there different types of No Toil cleaners and filter oils where I need to look for a specific type, or is there just one to get...the No Toil Evolution Kit? And if there are different types whats the type of oil No Toil makes that is right for my air filter? Thanks.
  7. I just got a big bear 400 on a trade. They say the mechanic told them the oil pump quit and it is junk. The machine looks almost new and has never left the old man's farm. It will not turn over but I have yet to determine if that is due to the issue or the guy not putting it back together right. I think he was trying to snow the old guy. Do these oil pumps quit? What is typical? I am a Honda 2 stroke guy by nature but I love my timberwolf but the wife has claimed it and figured this may be its big brother and be mine around the farm.
  8. 1987 suzuki LT230E, manual shows the plug on the underside of engine. Not there. There's an access hole in the skid plate, but no plug. I see a possible plug on the backend of the engine case. Its not underneath but on the low part of the case. Facing the swing arm. Is that it?
  9. 1987 Suzuki LT230E, Manual shows the drain plug on the underside of engine, accessible through a hold on the skidplate. No plug there. Only other place I see a possible, is on the lower rear case, on the side not the bottom. Anyone know?
  10. It is a 2000 kingQuad 300 that is used on the farm daily to make chores easier and faster. I have now cleaned oil out of the starter twice and can not find where it is coming from and why it has all of a sudden started doing this as it has been a great work horse until now. A cleaning only lasts about one day of use and you can pour the oil out of the starter. The oil level in the crankcase is just right and is checked routinely as it has burned a little oil since it was new.
  11. I sunk my Suzuki 1996 ltfwd quad and after getting all water out it ran for a couple miles then stated bogging down. I checked oil and none is showing in eyeglass and I do not have external leak so where did oil go?
  12. Title says it all. When I researched part it shows it does not exist anymore, discontinued. What can I do to stop the leak? Is there somewhere else I should be looking for part? The leak is coming from where shifter goes through seal, not around outside of seal between case and seal. Thanks.
  13. I put to much oil in my motor. Took quad out riding, rode for about 3 miles then it started bogging down, then died. Now it won't start. Any ideas as to what happened in my motor??
  14. I recently aquired a king quad 700. I have changed oil spark plugs and air filter. My question is what could be the cause for oil to be burnt through exhaust? Smoke is blue in color and smells of oil. Bike runs good no loss of power just blows a good bit of smoke after reaching operating temps. Didn't smoke until reaching temperature. Thanks for any input you may have.
  15. Well today i was working and seeing if i could get my suzuki 160 running. I took the plug out to clean it or see if it needed cleaned. It was covered in oil. Black thick oil. If i heated it up i might of been able to get a drip off of it...(it is like 35 degrees right now). It also clanks when i crank it. The clank is always in the same spot. It never it in a different place. It will turn over but work fire up and idler. It was idling but now it wont. Could i have bad rings or compression. Maybe a head gasket. The top end has a layer of oily filth on it. Is having to retighten the chain every few rides normal either? It seems like the chain is always lose.

  17. Hi all, I am posting this hoping that someone has seen it before and knows of a solution. TIA for any help. I had to change my pickup coil and now I have an oil leak between the engine and a stator cover. I tried fixing it 3 times by replacing gasket, replacing gasket and using the right stuff sealer in addition to the gasket. Still leaking oil. The last time I went in I thought that it may be leaking where the wire harness comes out. I used lots of right stuff around it to seal it but still no luck. Seems like it is leaking somewhere between the wire harness and the right bottom bolt (it collects on the bottom of that bolt and then drips but it looks like it originates higher up the cover.   18. Yes I am a noob! But I still require your assistance, I acquired a big bear and noticed the boot in the rear covering the drive shaft was leaking oil.... So I did some research and it looks like it could be the rear main seal or a loose yolk nut. So I took the liberty tearing the back end off the ATV and now what stands infront of me is the yolk nut. Leads me to my first question how do I even stick anything to tighten the thing it's nearly impossible and if it is tight how do I get anything in there to loosen it so I can replace the seal?? Please any help would be much appreciated!
  19. I have a Kazuma Falcon 150cc. Installed a new carb and changed oil 2 weeks ago and it's been running great until last night.... it started spraying oil out of the fitting on the front/top of the cylinder head. It starts up and idles just fine, no oil coming out. But when I increase throttle after about 2-3 minutes of idle run time oil then starts spraying out. Any ideas what is causing this oily mess?

A week ago I put 4.8 gal of new gas in and ran it for 2 hours it ran great this week I wanted to crank it and let it run a bit, wouldn't start initially made me think starter was hanging then it cranked and went dead, I then removed air filter to have a look and started it up and noticed a blackest gas mixture filling up the air filter housing I shut it off and wiped floor up to discover it was indeed gas and oil so I pull the dip stick and it's fuel of gas help!
  21. There is a slight oil leak on my quad runner it is where the cylinders connect to the engine i was wondering if there is any way to fix that?

  24. I use polaris brand oil for my you guessed it my polaris scrambler 01 500 2x4 its great tell me what you use sometimes i use other stuff but you have to watch out with atv oil some makers in production get dust and dirt in the oil and sometimes even metal particles
  25. took my bike out just before i got home it back fired twice lost power for a bit pull up to my house and notice oil leaking from the top right side it also looks like something is missing from where the oil is leaking can anyone help
