Hi All, Has anyone found engine oil in their air filter box. The must be little or no baffle between crankcase ventilation and that hose that attaches to the air filter box. I went to pick up my ATV today 60 miles away that they could not fix the jerky low speeds on and before I loaded it decided to check on this. Sure enough there was a good coating of oil with some pooling in the bottom of the air filter box. The air filter has oil on it too but is it a dry element or oiled element type. My guess from the color of it dry. I heard on a comment on my YT videos that there is a kit for this issue? Is this a CFMOTO fix? Thanks Kevin

after working great all weekend today my big bear 400 wont start. I noticed a strong gas smell, took cover off air box and found 2 inches of gas in the box. I figure this has to be a carb problem but hoping someone can pinpoint exactly what to look for/replace. thanks!

90s Big Bear Air Box & Wiring Question
slats_bigbear posted a topic in General Talk - Anything Goes!
I just picked up a cheap big bear Im trying to fix up needs alot of work so going thru it piece by piece. 1. The air box is completely stripped no breather hose, no hose to carb, and no filter or pieces inisde. Can anyone tell me if the typical K&N air filter comes with everything I need... I know it was a oiled element stock that slid onto a sleeve which I dont have so Im trying to find the quickest easiet way to get it back together. 2. I bought a new ignition and plugged it in and it started hissing and getting hot at the plug connection, I ripped it out quick and checked with my meter and it still seems to be ok. So can anyone tell me if there brown wire the wire thats hot with ignition on has continuity to ground.... I traced mine all the way back to getting ground thru the neutral and reverse switches thru the relays and all. The only other thing I can figure is it seems when i pulled the ignition plug off the 2 prongs looked like they are pushed in too far as if they wouldt insert/engage into the female plugs on the opposite plug and maybe its jumping/arcing and shorting out. I do have a service manual, wiring diagrams, and found OEM parts diagrams I just cant make sense of these couple things with out a little direction. Any ideas??? -
To no avail i have yet to find a K/N type replacement air filter, now as i have said before i love K/N Products,,,,,,,,,wish i had one when i was married to put on my ex-wives mouth........lol But any how, would removing the airbox lid give me a little more power ?????? And i think someone said a different muffler,,,,what should i look for when buying a muffler ???

Got this Lock and Ride box from THEATVSUPERSTORE. Its awesome, easy to install, and solves the problem of lack of storage on my touring when riding with a passenger. Worth every penny, can't wait to go riding with this bad boy! Even my son loves it already! Just waiting on my GURU Bumpers to be fabricated and my ride will be ready for the 2012 riding season!

2003 Kodiak Air Filter Box Replacement / Modifications
DPDISXR4Ti posted a topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
Am I missing something, or is the lower air-box all but impossible to replace once it's been removed? I guess in hindsight maybe I didn't need to remove it to get the carb out, but it's out now, and doesn't want to go back. I'm considering cutting out an inch from the back and making it shorter, but obviously that won't be a quick task. Might be easier to just get an after-market filter and get rid of the box, but I really hadn't planned on that. Suggestions??? -
The quad died on my son the other day. Tracing a fuel drip I found the air filter box filling up with fuel. After removing the air filter there was fuel was draining out the air intake into the box. Had to shut the fuel line to get the draining to stop. SOmething with the carb I guess but what???

Well picked up a insane performance air box on ebay for $70 got her on today wiring all done. More than I figured several times I was and lmao stupid cylinoid. Somehow it got turned around and was jumping itself but got it figured out and got her all done kinda sorta I have it on and everything inside just gotta clean the inside up a bit. I removed quiet a bit of extra weight off it and still gotta grind off some of the brackets and such im guessing a total of 3 to 5 lbs just by changing boxes. I removed the box for the case breather and installed 2 mini K&N filters give it a dif look all together and pretty nifty if I do say so lol. Decals were on it I need to remove them since I dont have anything of it on my bike lol.

ok so ive been talkin to some ppl with these rev boxs and they say its a quick, easy, and worth buying upgrade. heres the one im thinkin about buyin... eBay Motors: AMR STAGE 2 REV BOX HONDA TRX 400EX IGNITION 400 CDI (item 370064886695 end time Aug-28-08 16:57:54 PDT) i was talkin to my buddy about it and he said it would eventually blow the engine(i kno bullshitt right?). i said i wouldnt think so, unless i held it wide open for a prolonged amount of time. but my question is, could this rev box possibly blow my engine? im tryin to make my quad as fast as possible without taking away the 400ex's well known reliability. and another question wat stage should i get? stage 2 or 3? remeber my quad is stock thanks alot guys

2005 750 Kawasaki Brute Force...oil started sptting out near my airbox. I've never had problems with my Brute Force until today. It is running fine. After the oil began to spit out, I let it cool and checked the oil level which was fine. Looks like it's coming out of a hose that goes from my crankcase to the airbox.....any suggestions ???

Found part of my air box seal hanging out from under the lid the other day. Is this something you can normally clean like an air filter (flash point solvent / gasoline), or just replace it? Everything else looks ok; arrester, air ducts.....just a little gunk in the air box itself. TIA!!! -TD
