03 bayou 250 carb issues

I have a 2003 bayou 250. I rebuilt carb because its sat for a few years. Didn't run before rebuild. Now it starts up but runs terrible. Idles extremely high, which I can adjust. But engine makes a clicking noise, and the rpms drop and bike dies... there is hesitation on acceleration with popping and bogging. What could be causing this? What would be stock setting for air/fuel mixture screw that is on bottom of carb, and setting for idle screw on side of carb? Really confused as what clicking would be. Any help would be great. Thanks

If it's anything like my 300 fourtrax, the vacuum piston maybe worn or the seal is bad, I rebuilt mine also and had a needle seat missing and the way you discribed your issue may be the same thing. On my carb the idle screw was 2 1/2 turns out for factory setup.

      I was debating between Polaris sportsman 450 and Honda rancher.
      Polaris it a bit cheaper.
      But can you tell me which one will have more demand on the used market? Which one will keep it's value better?

      1990 kawasaki bayou 300c idles fine but pops out exhaust and intake when trying to excel, will not take throttle past 1/4 , any one had this problem?
      have replaced carb twice, same thing, fresh built engine cylinder head, same as before, new spark plug, flywheel key is good, pulser test good, good spark

      Hey everyone,
      I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
      Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

      This thing came with a cheap aftermarket carb on it the problem I'm having is it won't start with choke installed into carburetor it will start and get run without it installed then bogs out after about 2 min run time I've checked timing , compression, checked valves for proper clearance , also did a smoke test for air leaks found none.

      Kawasaki Bayou no spark

      Hey all, new to the forum! I just bought a 1998 Kawasaki bayou 300, 4x4 not running. Initially I found no spark. Ended up playing with the plug wire (made sure plug top and wiring was touching) and got spark yesterday and the quad fired up off ether. Come to work on it today and now no spark again. Before I got spark and now today if I touch the plug after cranking I get shocked, and it will spark after I release the starter button. I was jumping the quad with a freshly charged car battery that has 12v while cranking. Cleaned out the kill switch and ignition button. All looks good. Purchased new plugs. They're are a lot of wires cut/ disconnected. But shouldn't matter if I got spark without them connected...
