1994 LT-F4WDX K.Q. - Rebuild Advice

Recommended Posts

im BRAND new to thew ATV world and i was given a free 1994 king quad. the thing is, the engine runs, but is verrryy rough. it starts fine, idles well, and revs fine too, but only for a while. then when given gas the engine bogs down and barely runs, puffs out lots of smoke and smells of oil and some times quits completely. then it will go back to running fine. and back and forth...the machine had been sitting in the guys yard for 2 years. also, gas is in the oil. i have no idea where it is coming from..

already i have taken the carb out and am in the process of rebuilding that..i also added a new air filter(the old one was black with oil and very chewd up)and spark plug(the old plug was black and charred as well.)

anything helps! THANK YOU

you're on the right track, probably all carb problems. gas in oil may be from bad needle and float if the petcock was left on or shot. running crappy and smoking from dirty carb and old gas. check the crank vent lines too going to the carb breather box. put a film of oil on your new air filter too. i'll look to see if i have a manual for your bike ....

When you change the oil and filter on those small Suzuki motors about 1/3 of a quart remains in the bottom of the crankcase. I was told you have to split the case to drain that last .3 qts. I think I came up with a better method. With a frame hoist or engine hoist or two big friends lift the front of the ATV up until the bike is vertical. That remaining oil will drain out the filler hole. Be sure to shut the fuel petcock before doing it or gas will run out the top of the carb because you are unseating the neeedle valve. Mine had water in the oil and I changed it 3 times, but it still remained grey. After lifting it once the oil was clean.

Sorry I suck at these forums so if you see this submitted under update status, my bad. Anyhow this is a new shock for a 96 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 it fits my 96 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 4x4 perfectly. Little narrower are the bottom than the original but everything else is perfect. I extended it to almost a half in from full extension because I’m pushing 350 pounds.  It rides and hold me well. So if any of y'allRace driven shock. have been looking for one and didn’t want to do the research here it is.

2022 Sector 550, 414 miles on it and the gas gauge reads empty.  I topped off the gas and it didn't change.
There is no fuse that I could find.  No access at the gauge cluster.
Wiring on the top of the tank looks good, properly connected.
Could the sending unit in the tank be stuck or broken?
Has anybody removed the tank lid?  Any tricks?
      Any other ideas?
      Thanks for any help,
      Clyde

      Hi everyone.
Let me explain the thread title.
My husband and I are very active in the nudist community, and we have stayed at many and most of the mainstream nudist and clothing optional campgrounds in the USA. We are now approaching our retirement and would like to start a podcast to share those off the road / backwoods / little known camping areas where nudity is allowed. We have purchased a 5th wheel camping trailer with a rear garage for the ATV and now need some good reports on the one to buy.
We are most interested in a side by side unit but would love to get your thoughts.
Feel free to stop by and say Hi and ask anything you would like to better understand what we are looking for in an offroad unit.
Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you.

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!
