2007 Arctic Cat 700 efi - Fan Diode Location

Does anybody have any information on where the fan diode is physically located on a 2007 arctic cat 700 efi 4x4?

i tried finding it in an '05 manual with no luck.

you're best bet would be to pm swampcat07 for this info ....

I believe it is located in the wiring harness right after the fan connector. It would be integrated into the wiring harness. I will see if I can post the wiring diagram.

Thanx for the information. Much appreciated. I was able to locate the diode and it has failed open. Does anybody know where to purchase a fan diode from? They want $640 for a complete harness. I diode is worth about $5.

Off the top of my head you are looking for a 10 or 15 amp blocking diode with axial leads. Check Online or Radio Shack.

Radio Shack does not sell a 10 amp diode but they do sell 5 amp ones and what you can do is they come in a 4 pack or something like that. Solder two in parallel and that will double the current it can handle. Make sure you have the polarity correct when replacing it.

Swampcat is right, the diode is inside the wire harness near where the fan connection mates into the harness.

The cost to ship a few diodes would be far more then the cost of the diodes.

Thanx guys for the info. The PN junction of the diode turned out to be okay. The Anode actually broke off and the cathode was barely hanging on. A little solder and some patience and we are back in business.
