Tread Lightly! Trainer Courses

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone. As we continue to take massive strides in promoting responsible use of public lands in order to minimize impacts on the environment, other users, and future recreational access we are starting to look more and more to our volunteers. The Tread Trainer program started in 2003 to help build an "army" of volunteers to help support and encourage responsible recreation within their communities, and through that program, we currently have nearly 500 active trainers nationwide. Tread Trainers are equipped after a one-day course with tools and training to host awareness workshops, and provide outreach. Master Trainers are equipped after a two-day course to not only provide those same, but also to train Tread Trainers in their areas.

Interested in helping us in your area?

Here is an updated list of our upcoming Trainer Courses:

Master Tread Trainer:

October 6 - Rausch Creek Off-Road Park in Tremont, Pennsylvania

November 17 - Uwharrie Off-Road Training Center in Uwharrie, North Carolina

I’m looking for a top end kit for a Yamaha. I would like to see how well the engine runs before spending $6-$7 hundred on oem. Niche has complete kits from $1-$2 hundred.  Anyone have experience with Niche or similar Chinese companies?

Does anyone use GPS, whether on a device or app to record their ATV trail rides? I have been thinking about a section where our members can upload let's say a .gpx file and share their rides on a google map for others to see where there are riding areas. Not sure if this is something of interest or how much it would be used, so just trying to get an idea.

I have a 1994 big bear and I am starting to have issues starting. I put in a new starter and selnoid as the at stopped starting with the electrical but will still start with the pull cord. Where and what now should I be looking at to check? If I turn key to on and the switch to on then hit the start button, the bike clicks and then nothing. Lights still work but no response to the starter. Stumped now. Any help would be greAt.
