you are getting too much air somehow, check for proper fuel flow in lines and tank screen, intake boot for air leaks and check airboxand vacuum lines. You can also adjust your fuel screw. Start there.....

Your Twinpeaks if I'm right is a joint build with Kawasaki it should have the same v-twin motor as the Prairie. On the right side of your quad look at your intakes their is a vacum port on each 1 make sure they are blocked off with vacum caps check all vacum hoses check fuel lines for cracks I agree Cheriah your sucking air an not fuel & the choke lets it get more fuel. Did you sync the carbs after removing & cleaning them. Their is an adjustment screw on the left side of the quad for that adjustment but you need a synchronize tool or you can make your own. The 2 vacum ports I was saying to check for vacum caps is where you hook up the sync tool. Your air/fuel mixture screws are on the right side those should be 2.5 to 3 turns out from closed. Is the quad popping thru the carbs or backfiring out the exhuast?

re:2004 LT-V700F or Twin Peaks I'm getting a backfire through carbs and yes I've checked for vacuum leaks trys to run better on full choke already drained tank doesn't run long though and I noticed rear exhaust pipe heating up like a starvation prob, help?

Your carbs may be out of sync. You can do a search on how to sync the carbs and how to make a homemade tool for doing the job. I think it was rattle bars I found the info on synchronizing the carbs. May be something for you to check into if there out of sync it can have a big effect on how the quad will run and its not good for the motor.

Pull the main jets and emulsifier tubes and make sure all the little holes are clear and can see light through them. Same thing with the pilot jet. This should clear it up if you have not modded your airbox to allow more air.

Also the diaphragms have a small brass rice jet at the top on the sealing side and the rubber could have a tear that wont allow the slide to open. You can check this by pulling the filter off and making sure they open at the same time.

I’m having a issue with my choke when its on it runs fine when I cut the choke off the atv cuts off went to take the carburetor off and saw the choke plunger broke at the nut to screw it in could this be my issue? Do I just need to buy a plunger kit and put it on? I took the carburetor off and cleaned both jets anyway just to make sure and it’s still having issues staying on

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

Does anyone know if they're interchangeable?  I have a 2002 TRX20TE and 2007 TRX250TE, so getting to a set of common engine parts would be ideal.

The choke lever doesn't stay in position on my 2001 Yamaha Kodiak.  The model is YFM 400.  I have to hold the lever to the choke position manually for some reason.  Any Ideas as to why?
