Removing top end of the 2007 Suzuki Vincent 500

I've taken the rocker cover off the motor I see that the timing chain goes all the way down to the crank how can I take the top end up with the chain well I need special tools and what with the torques specs be. I appreciate any input I can get

Unbolt the sprocket from the came shaft then drop it down to remove the chain. Be sure to keep tension on the chain so it doesnt slip off the drive sprocket in the crank case. Engine needs to be TDC. However, before you do this work, I suggest you get a manual.

      I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
      What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
      Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?

      I am pretty new to ATV/UTV/Small engine repairs and would like input on your absolute must-have specialty tools for maintenance and repairs. Aside from the obvious wrenches and sockets, what are some more specialty type tools you use for troubleshooting? I don't plan to open a repair shop or anything, I just do this as a hobby. Looking forward to your responses!

      Does anyone know forsure if u can swap out the Crank Case on a 2001 kawasaki Lakota 300 sport  with a kawasaki Bayou 300 Im seeing yes and no all over some say the mounting position is different so you can't swap the cases but everyother inernal engine part you can swap then im seeing no problem bolts right on can someone plz clarify who knows forsure

      Maybe someone has the answer to correct a long cranking but did start after maybe 10 seconds?
      Temp was mid 70's, with ATV not run for maybe a month but on battery maintainer with full bat charge noted.  The atv started, but then died a couple times after repeated attempts.  But when run awhile everything was ok.  Although when starting now I do hear the fuel pump humming but seems to take a few ,"long" seconds before full prime pressure.
      Is this typical of a failing fuel pump?
      I've priced a replacement fuel pump on eBay for less than $40 so am tempted to simply replace it for good PM.  Just had all covers off so looks really easy to replace.
      Any ideas?
