    Hard to find dealers ....They franchise through a lot of Motorcycle / ATV dealers who don't stock .

    Hmm would be nice to have one of those just for general maintainence too i guess. I ended up like rubber banding a baggie of oil and letting it soak through the cable then when i put it on it was still grabbing and oddly enough spinning the ends 180 degrees makes it not grab anymore. The new cable has like a more solid cable or something in it because my OEM one spins freely but new one is hard and feels like its almost a solid wire spinning in there or something, weird. Long story short bad cable still but might limp by with oil and rotation. Im still getting one of those pressure oilers though.

    You could get a cable oiler and try that first , i have saved many cables with a pressure oiler for cables.

    I wonder what brand of trailer ..aluminum trailer Mike bought? I see the weihts of identical size aluminum trailers can vary from 600 lbs to 800 lbs.

    yes, you are correct the ciggy socket is universal. Getting the hot and gnd wrong can be catastrophic. Getting the right hole is critical but I like the SAE "polarized connectors".

    Well its been a while but i got an amazon shift cable and it still sticks but only on downshifts. Honestly i think the cable is still the issue though because everything works fine untill i actually bend it and put it in the brackets then the shifter sticks untill i take it back outa the brackets then its fine with the cable straight. I guess the inner sleeve is bad or something, i just got a cheapo on on amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HT1NXW9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title The only other thing i can think of is like maybe the spring is just weak in 1 direction somehow or that the shaft having this much side to side movement has something to do with it. Any ideas where to go next? I honestly cant really justify speanding like 200 bucks on an oem cable but i might try another amazon/ebay one incase i just got a bad one, i assume the QC probably aint the best on em just like the cheap carbs, get a bad one every now and then.     Those sockets are the most practical by far. There are so many 12v accessories that plug into them.. Get one(s) with the cap to close them up when not in use. There are other connectors you can use, but they're not nearly as convenient and are a lot more "geeky" to install; such as the XT60 some of the power stations use with their chargers and the Anderson connectors available in polarized plugs from 15A to over 300A. I don't like the SAE connectors because they can accidentally be reverse connected and the other one I've got on an old Honda generator that uses contacts in a T configuration. A search on them brought up " Deans style T connectors"

    You know I could leave Grandma's compressor 53 Qt freezer/cooler in the truck and just take water and .snackies on Forman. Not drinking and riding...But at night if camping overnight (I usually sleep in the truck) I need a night cap! Forman has a 10 Amp fused socket on front. I could extend that to the Moose. Good Idea....However I hate those "cigarette lighter " sockets! What is alternative?

    I don't normally carry my portable on the quad unless going out for an extended time and I want to take some perishable food and drink along. at 53 quart , it is bulky and heavy. It does go out in the truck or boat if going camping or fishing. A lot handier than using a cooler and ice. I added accessory sockets to both the front and rear of my old '91 Honda Fourtrax 300FW so I can run accessories on both front and rear as needed.

    Picture ? Six pack cooler.... LOL ..what was in it may I ask...? I drink water without ice,...LOL Bourbon and Rum need Ice.. I pour the ice water over me to cool off.

    You carry this on your quad ? Jen .We were on the trails this morning at 5am till 830 ish just to beat the heat !! I just have a 6 pack cooler I carry with ice packs that seem to work for me

    Its 53 qts.... People should be aware of heat stroke and heat exhaustion during the hot weather. I love having ice cubes on after these hot days laying in the tent too cool down. It is nice...

      Hey guys and gals. I've been working on my friends 2007 big bear IRS. Unfortunately after 3 different people got their hands on it and only made things worse every time.  After months of finding just crazy problems everywhere. I'm finally at the point we're its almost 100% !!! But I'm getting a short somewhere between the 4xW switch I believe. I managed to by searching the internet like a  fiend, got my hands on an official Yamaha wire harness for the year and make. But I don't have the numbered component list and to be honest. After hours of going through and making everything so it's  easy to reference. If anyone has a picture of the referenced components. I would be forever in your debt. I've spent hours marking up the blown up diagram so it will be easy, for any possible future repairs. Please and thank you. Here's a picture of what i have so far.  Unsealed it in plastic so oil and crap won't spill or get smudged.
