  1. Went out today thought it might be a good idea to check the valve clearances while the tank was off, too bad I didn't think of that before I put the tank back on, so I took the tank back off, I could tell these bolts had never been removed from factory, intake was .003 perfect, range .002-.004 exhaust was .006 range.006-.008 I usually try to go middle of range but was good so didn't touch it. Pull starter needs attention, this bike was so neglected. Really rusty no gasket, have to make one. Cleaned up fairly well with the cheek poker.

  2. Well I think if I was there I'd have a magnifying lens out and I'd be inspecting things minutely(including the rockers) for signs of where they mate up or rub on one other, trying to figure what is meant to hold the rocker up. I'm pretty sure that mechanism won't force the valve open by force, it will just prop it up after the cam has lifted it, and, it's likely to get the prop trapped under there till the next valve lift when the prop flicks out of the way again.. that big spring I think does that flicking out of the way. It's likely/possible that the propping up of the rocker happens when the engine bounces backwards as it stops. Not sure at all about how exactly because I haven't seen one of those before, but those are fairly common operating principles for auto de-compressors.

  3. Chain it to a tree and use a chain block to haul the bend out. Blocks of wood under it and big levers.. It'll bend. To fix camber you need to move the bottom arm out, not forward.. Moving it forwards' going to effect the caster.

  4. Np, I'll measure all my coils as soon as I get them, hopefully they match the OEM specs. Seems like the 1994 Bayou ignition coil specs differ from many other ATVs with 12v ignition, the few specs that I found have much lower and almost identical resistance on both primary and secondary, about half of what the Bayou has. It might give a hint to why the Bayou seems to have a lot of electrical issues, judging by the amount of threads about it, unusual specs and sensitive system overall? Just a thought.. 🤔 /Pär

  5. This is by far the best quad site I have been on . Appreciate all the information shared, and the Administrators are so helpful. Just wanted to relay my appreciation. Thanks everyone.
