  1. What's up Buck Billy? You're right, we need to get this place extremely active.
  2. my girl is way cuter than that rat! J/K
  3. Give me a few days, my new puppy is way cuter than yours. I just need to put the pics on my computer.
  4. I can live with that. Was just curious why you said that. I've heard others say the same thing but when you ask them why they have no reason. As far as oil changes and all that stuff, the 450 is just like in other machine. Depends how you ride it. So I can deal with your reason.
  5. I would like to know what makes the 450s more troublesome to maintain. And the valve adjustment argument won't work. The trx doesn't call for a valve job until about 250 hours.
  6. Dogs love quads! my dog will sit on the tank and ride with me! Cute kid, get him in the habit of wearing gear.
  7. Raptors are a great machine, highly overrated though.IMO For having 250cc over the 450s, it's not that much better. It rocks in the dunes but other than that they are no better than the 450s.
  8. I love my 450(trx). I ride in the rocky mountains. The trails are nasty, I can make it through anything. I recommend skid plates.
  9. Yeah, you probably won't win on one. The 450s dominate in all racing, Trails the Rappy is better.
  10. I would definitly choose the Raptor over the KFX. The Raptor will out perform the KFX on levels of the board except on the track.
  11. So did they ride the Baja 1000 course? The towns (or villas) you named sound familiar. If you are ever in San Felipe, take a trip to "Mike's Sky Ranch"
  12. If you'll be doing mostly woods, I would stay away from the LTR. It has a 49" stance, most atv trails are about 50". The reason the KFX is the slowest is the gearing. It has great acceleration but lacks in top end. In woods do you really ever get past 4th gear? The KFX is geared for low and mid range. So that would be the better choice. IMO
  13. Of all the reviews I have read, the KFX is the slowest of all the 450's. Not by much. The 450s are so close together that a good rider can win on any of them. Top speed the Kawi will lose. I can count on one hand the times I really wish I had reverse. The Kawi's stock suspension is a pretty stiff ride,(it's adjustable)But Kawi set it up for very rough terrain. Lean back, push your thumb, and the suspension will soak up everything through whoops and such. The Kawi responds very well to mods such as exhaust and air filter.
  14. The Kawi sits pretty low. If you're a taller person you may need to get a +1 steering stem.
  15. I prefer the 450s over everything else so I would say the YFZ450. If reverse is an issue for get the Raptor. Both are at the top of their game. You can't go wrong with either one.
  16. The Rappy is in a class of it's own. It's set up pretty much like the 450s as far as how wide it is. The rappy 700 is considered one of the ultimate trail quads. Stock the speed is not that impressive but a few simple mods and it becomes untouchable. The 700 will be better suited for trails and sand. It's hard to compare the Rappy to the 450s because they are made for different kinds of riding. I perfer the 450 b/c I race. The Raptor is not that good on track.
  17. They are both great machines. The Yammy has about 46" width. The LTR has 49". In Colorado alot of the trails are 50" or less. The suzuki will limit you to wide trails. I would recommend The Yamaha of the 2.
  18. The 400EX is a great machine. Living in Arizona you may want to think about a quad that is liquid-cooled. All the 400s are great. I am a Honda guy for life so it kills me to say that Artic Cat, Kawasaki, and Suzuki all have a 400 that will out perform the 400EX. These other 3 quads are commonly called the "clones". They are all the exact same machine just different plastics. These are all liquid cooled. The only downside to the 400s is you will not keep up with the big boys.(IMO) So if you are looking at a 400, check the other makers.
  19. Our group in Baja,Mexico at Mike's Sky Ranch.
  20. Good luck to every one who submitted a photo! I can really use that gift certificate. :party2:
  21. I think it was almost 7100 after taxes. I personally have never felt the need for a wider stance on mine. If you're thinking about doing this, look more into Suzuki. It will save you alot of money. The TRX comes with showa shocks that have a piggyback res. They are fully adjustable. The stock suspension on the TRX is one of the best available. I put a "2 Brothers M-7" slip-on exhaust on my quad. It gave me great increase all around. The after market parts for the TRX is above all. Just look at there racing records in the Baja series as well as motox and the GNCC. As for cosmetics for it, "Blingstar" makes some killer looking stuff. I got the Dana Creech front bumper by Blingstar and ACRacing nerfbars.
  22. The reviews I was reading was in one of my quad mags. I don't remember which one, I'll look for it. I have the 07 with Black plastics and red powder coated frame. I'll try to brake it down for you. The Yammy has the best acceleration and top speed. The Honda is very close in both of these catagories but Honda wins in suspension and handling(unless you have the GYTR). Suzuki falls just behind on the acceleration and top speed, but it has the widest stance. This make power slides easier, so some will say it handles better than Honda. The downside to the LTR, is its wide stance. If you ride trail like me the Suzuki is too wide for alot of trails. In Co. most trails are 50" maximum width. The LTR is 49". You do the math. The new Kawi they say has great shocks. But it is the slowest. My TRX was $6900. I did alot of homework before I bought mine.
  23. Ha! what's up I kinda thought that might be you!
