  1. Nice of you to let the kid have it. Nice work, like the green and the air filter color matches as well.
  2. Well decided to do the drive yesterday after work. Looked at the Yam 250 and in pretty good condition. Starts right up, new tires, all lights work etc. Just needs carb redone and some detailing. Tried to get Willie and the boys to help load it up lol Az
  3. I rarely put that much into my finds, In order to make any money you have to buy them cheap and watch your costs. Hell I even figure out the gas spent to look at some if its worth it or not. Now if it was my personal one that I was keeping I can see spending more than planned. So where are the pics of your barn find? I assume was a good deal. Im after one probably tomorrow but a long drive and not sure if worth the effort. Pics to follow. Az
  4. 1350.00 But probably end up around 1150 or so. Just put it up and someone wants it for 1000 I think I will wait and see what it brings. That thing is super clean and runs really good. Az
  5. Ok, so the Bayou 220 is done and gonna post for sale. Couple of pics. Gotta love that old nasty seat lol. That's the best I could do with that beat to hell muffler. Must have flipped it at one time. Az
  6. The Mojave turned out great, good job. I try to limit myself on the price and if I cant get it fairly cheap ill pass. Few things matter is the shape, If I can find parts, the price and what I think I will have to put in to it to fix. If you pay too much you will never get your money out of it. Its fun to build them but it has to be profitable. Hey Ajmboy, the paint I use is usually semi gloss rustoleum from Lowes. Its all in the prep. spend a little time before painting goes a long way. Most people will buy a clean machine pretty quickly. I always make sure nothing is rigged and is working a 100 % Some of the most expensive items are batteries (which they all need) and Tires.
  7. So I sold the Moto 4 a few weeks ago, did good on the profit. Today I Sold the TimberWolf, Man that thing was a blast to ride, wheelie city! Get this I ended up trading it for a 01 Polaris Explorer 4x4. and he also gave me 900.00 Catch is he blew the motor. I pulled the pull cord and no compression. He said it got super hot and would not turn off with the key. I assume it was dieseling off the 2 stroke oil, any way he said some thing flew out the tail pipe (Yea probably the top of the piston) and wont start now. So its on the back burner while I finish the 220. Couple of pics. Some of the Timberwolf and the rest of the Polaris. Stay Tuned lol Az.
  8. Well the reverse cam stopper showed the other day so I installed it and rechecked the readings on the switch. I showed good so I just sanded down the switch like you said and installed it. Put it all back together and now I get a neutral light and im sure its gonna crank when I get a battery. You nailed it. Just a 12 dollar part and some labor and it seems fixed. Thanks for the info. Now the 220 is out of the paint shop, some pics Az.
  9. Well already ordered one and cant be returned cheaply so ill just replace it. Have switch off ohms out ok then goes open then ok etc. might be me moving the contacts lol. I did ohm the pin on the reverse stop to ground and not liking the readings so I ordered a new one anyway. Cheap insurance while in there. What holds the reverse stop in on that shaft? is it just floating there. Just remove the c clip and the tensioner and it slides out? Some pics for your enjoyment
  10. Great man, exactly what I needed to see. Let you know how it goes. Az
  11. On one of the atv I recently purchased the neutral switch is bad, Any one ever replaced one. looking for some pics. I assume I need to remove the drive shaft to pull the cover foward to clear the gear shift shaft. Any easy ways to do this. So far have motor moved forward all bolts out except nuts on drive shaft which are loose Thanks Az
  12. Little of both but mostly paint. Seems to scrape off pretty easily. Gonna hit it with the power washer on my day off and see how much flies off lol. Az
  13. Well yesterday went shopping, found this 02 Honda, pretty dirty but in perfect working order except for rear brakes and maybe some brake cable and tlc needed. Starts right up and runs pretty good. Ended trading for a .22 that I paid nothing for and a C-note.
  14. Started tearing it apart, pulled the carb to rebuild, removed exhaust, battery, fenders etc. cleaned it up pretty good, did some painting, reinstalled exhaust, carb, other accessories and got it to fire up. Runs pretty good. Ordered me a seat cover, battery and front tires and a petcock. few more pics after. Will post finished pics when done. Next will be the Bayou 220 Az
  15. Yea it came with the seat but was off and did not want it to blow out of the truck so I had it inside. I don't know whats up with people wiring batteries backwards. The Bayou 300 I have was wired the positive and bolted it to ground! People just dont pay attention. Thank god most batteries are dead when I get them.
  16. The TImberWolf looks really fun, and is actually in great shape. I got it to spin over with a jump So that's a good start. Needs some tires and tlc but gonna be a quick one for sure. Takes a lot of cleaning, usually pull everything apart and go from there but they usually clean up nice. I pick them up off craigslist or facebook. Most are way over priced. I limit myself usually to 350 max apiece. Az
  17. little on the high side, 650 for both. But ill probably get it back out of them later. Looking at the Bayou see anything wrong lol, has the pos grounded! Pos wire is broken in half. .
  18. Went shopping on Saturday, picked up another Kawasaki Bayou 220 and a Yamaha Timber Wolf 250 I really should sell some of these but they are a lot of fun to find, fix and ride Of course neither of them run but that's part of the fun! Az
  19. All done for now a few pics, one other thing. It actually had the original tool kit in the trunk. LOL
  20. Gonna have to look at it again. Thanks Az
  21. I had the same problem, ended up replacing a blown fuse and the ign. switch
  22. Well got home from work and decided to look at it again. Adjusted brakes where they used to be (back brakes) and now shifts into reverse! WTH? Did a little experimenting. Use front brakes only and try to shift into reverse = no go Use rear brake only (Right Foot Pedal) push far down and it goes into reverse! Now the rear foot brake lever doesn't trip the brake switch as light never comes on so its not solenoid operated and don't see anything but a cable but I guess ill never understand that one. I saw in the download on adjusting the shift lever and they talked about the brakes but really didn't make sense to me. Guess it does effect them somehow. Put that in your note book. Any way im off again, when im finished with it I will post some pics. That thing will burn some tires though lol. Az
  23. as far as I know you just make sure its in neutral and then pull the lever from Low/High/Reverse. oil is full, it worked perfect the first time. I did adjust brakes but don't see how that would affect it. Then again I could be wrong but don't see how that's tied in to a cable going to the motor, also tried it with engine off. Any Yamaha experts out here? Az
  24. Got it back together today and took for a ride. Runs good only problem the reverse shift. Shifted from low to high and worked fine, shifted to reverse worked fine. After that wont go back to Reverse and don't want to force it. I can see the lever on the motor trying to move when moving shifter so cable should be ok, anyone have problems like this and what to do to resolve it? Az
  25. Thanks for the diagram. My battery and meter both showed up today. Fired it up and got 20v on each of the 3 legs coming out of the stator. Checked voltage at battery and presto have about 14v What did I learn? Well make sure the battery is actually good before further diagnosis. I knew it was bad but figured I would still read charging voltage at it since it wasn't shorted, I was wrong. (2) Use the right tools, Im still using my old meter from when I worked on cars lol that has been before 2007 so meter was outdated and didn't read acv. Now to clean it up good and put all back together. Thanks for the help and hope this helps some one else with charging problems or just checking the charging system. Az
