  1. I noticed that also , but this is the one listed for the 90 Moto 4. Maybe has a different carb or is a different model, i looked at 89 and 90 and the carb was the same. I thought the knurled knob was the mixture adjustment also , but i had never seemn one with a knurled knob.
  2. You just want to make sure the throttle plate on the carb is closed all the way when the throttle is not being pushed, if needs adjustment, take the cable out and there are 2 nuts that you can move to get the correct tension on the cable. You can see the 2 nuts for adjusting in this phot, this is on a suzuki but it should be similar.
  3. I just pulled up a diagram of your carb. i cant really tell which screw you are pointing to with the screwdriver, but the fuel mixture screw is # 16 on the diagram, and # 7 is your choke plunger, make sure its not stuck. That carb does not look like its been rebuilt recently, you might want to pull it and make sure everything is right.
  4. Excellent, i forgot to mention the O ring it sometimes gets left out or not seated properly.
  5. Freshly rebuilt carb running rich, no change with the mixture screw. my only conclusion would be wrong jet size or float height.
  6. Just now seeing your post. Thanks its always a great day, getting together with kids and grandkids.
  7. Welcome!
  8. To really tune the new carb you need to get the air filter installed. If its an aftermarket carb you may need to adjust the cable length for the throttle, they do not always fit exact, may be why its idling too fast. Try adjusting the mixture screw to see if it will run better.
  9. Maybe, im guessing, i see more freshly rebuilt carbs running lean than rich, and usually you can smell it at the exhaust if its rich enough to bog, plus smoke at the exhaust.
  10. Tne seats look very good, you did a great job. I agree with the pneumatic stapler tip, every time i do one i say im going to have to get a better stapler, last one i did i got an electric stapler it didnt do any better than the mechanical one. I will have to try a pneumatic one.
  11. Spray some carb cleaner around the intake where the carb attaches to the engine if it speeds up that is where your air leak is, you might also look for open vacum ports on the carb, and makes sure all the vacum hoses are attached to where they are supposed to go. Not sure if your model has a vacum operated petcock, some times they will leak.
  12. I have had that happen before, generally somethings not right with the carb, usually a massive air or vacum leak causing an overly lean condition that the adjuster screw cant adjust out.
  13. You have been busy, sounds like its coming together nicely. Good choice deciding not to rip out the existing harness its usually easier to repair the existing one. Sometimes i can find Wix oil filters ot Oreilys but not all the time, so you did good to order it. The last time i just ordered the Yamaha one from Amazon, it came in a 2 pack.
  14. Did it just stop like you turned the key off, or did it start running poorly first?
  15. Welcome, great site, hope you enjoy it.
  16. How much oil is getting into the airbox?
  17. Do you just have no spark or other issues as well.
  18. Turn it in to make it leaner.
  19. Is this a rebuilt Mikuni carb
  20. I wouldnt think a rotary tiller engine would have enough power to till and drive the ATV wheels very effectively. To drive it , it would just be a matter of fabricating a drive shaft from the tiller PTO to the ATV wheels and a lot of fabrication for mounting wheels to the frame. I would rather use my time to build something fun, once you get the tiller built, then there is work involved.
  21. So what are we up to on the wiring, cut out relay neutral relay and reverse relay, is the new soloenoid working good. I have looked high and low for a free manual for that bike seems to be non existant, the one Mech found seems to be the best.
  22. That looks very good, good find!
  23. My first thought is it might be running too lean by mixture setting or could possibly have an intake manifold leak. Im assuming oil is good and filter changed and getting good oil flow. When it shuts down and its hot will it start back up, Also make sure all your cooling fins are not caked with debris. I dont remember if that model had a cooling fan i dont think it did, but if its there check for proper operation.
  24. Sorry i attached the wrong manual
