  1. Hmmm...What tools do you have? The spark test that Shorty advised is good if no test equipment. I have found the colorof the spark (when dong the spark test) is indictative oof voltage. However a 50,000 vac spark will easily jump 1/2 inch . I am not sure what the voltage is Gbarm knows that.
  2. There are a lot of new posts/..
  3. Maybe a simple three wire connector at lights. Remember if you solder use only electrical solder. I have made that mistake before...Off course I have made lots of mistakes ...LOL
  4. ☺️
  5. Well i thought the post was very informative. I liked the pictures. I have changed out four gravely tires this year. However, they are a two part rim so it's easy to unmount and remount. The tire machine is a good investment. My Kissin 'cousin has the automatic Job-R-Do from Northern tool. If i had several to do I would go see him. I have never used the Yamaha tire lube. sounds like a good idea.
  6. Well on battery disconnects I only open the DCcommon. safety of no com if Bat + is grd to frame accidentally. On a light yes I guess one could use a double pole discinnect but never two individual switches. I don't like chasing open com's.
  7. Paint booth? Does that help?
  8. Silica Sand...I worked in a glass factory once...3,200F melting temp. Also worked on Kaolin Sand dryer...Florida has Kaolin deposits...Kaolin clay / sand....Original base ingredient in Kaopectate....LOL Sorry Gbarm, I could not resist adding color to your absolutely great post.🫦
  9. That looks like he sand /bead blasted it????
  10. I used a 2 x 8 on tire then drove on that. That did not work. But Grandpa's Mahindra tractor forks did. I cannot believe how he cleaned up like new...
  11. OMG...that's wild. They call coal fossil fuel...But I have never seen a dead possum on the road turn to coal..
  12. Do you incorporaate a special air filter for dust..Coal dust is fine. (And highly explosive I worked on coal fired burners a couple times)
  13. The blue ridge tunnel 4,256 ft long built in 1856 ...189 men died in the construction.
  14. The voltage bar graph along the bottom of My Fluke picks spikes. Maybe not sure. A timing light should. You should get the Fluke scope...oscilloscope. Fluke 199B...~$900
  15. That is a Bucket List item!
  16. Yes drinking beer by the light of the moon,,,,,BTDT and I don't care much for beer! Now it is a Halloween hayride venue also.
  17. I have a Simpson...LOL Won't a spark tester light pick that up?...I have used a Timing light also. That's an antique.
  18. Whoa!!! the Pearle Tunnel gives me the tremors! Wet and Dark...
  19. Oooooh Dark and wet...
  20. Wow strong and impressive..LOL I have a Tunnel picture I walked through...It is abandoned and dark in the middle of nowhere in southren Ohio. Its called the Moonville Tunel (No kidding that's the name on it )🤩
  21. Psycologists say taat bridges and Tunnels are strong images. I love old train bridges and tunnels. just walking in them is a thrill. I remember Alfred Hitchcock's movie North by Northwest. Cary Grant saves Eva Saint Marie from death. He gets her onto the train. He lifts her up into his upper birth on the train as it enters the tunnel and everything goes dark as the movie ends...OOMG that was sooo good.
  22. That's an important point I though Tech was hilly and muddy or something.
  23. Yes I am sure the RR bed was stable and stoned heavily already. Probably 3/4 in clean stone top coat would pack. Still trucking and spreading is $$$. Low overhanging trees the truckers would not like that . Probably had to use single axle dump trucks. The wooden fence also ! $$$.
  24. Where you went against tge tree and backed up .i was surprised you could. Nive video. I did not realize what "tech trails " were .
  25. looks good
