  1. I use rivets to fasten sheet metal parts together. Rivets are cheap, hold tight and are almost flush with surface. I used 10 penny nails as rivets here.
  2. True But I would not want to catch the woods on fire.
  3. Yes i guess for the Sandrail i would want it pointed at the motor for quick activation however, removable also. Some ABC extinguisher have caustic chemicals that require washing off to prevent damage.
  4. I found new replacement hi tech pads that are soft and pliable . However, it gets hard on impact. ..wow
  5. that would work on my Rail and SXS. What about ATV...?? I would think just ansmall extinguisher?
  6. That is obvious! I should have thought of that. I could attach so the release would be just above my head. When sitting in harness with straps across my shoulder I cannot reach around to the side but I can reach up.
  7. We should explain for those who do not know...Suburban is a private several sq mile area of native Florida with no rules. If fact the Sherrif does not go there ...of course the Sherriff and his wife are currently in jail LOL
  8. You must have a Ballistic vest...!!!
  9. fuel pump is below tank. The firewall would be between the fuel pump and the motor. So I can access the SO (Shut off ) valve and check for any leaks at fuel pump. VW motor is magnesium alloy ..burns hot! dont use water!
  10. There is one that is aluminum and another that is injection molded nylon...I could use it as a firewall on the Sandrail with a fir extinguisher .
  11. LOL...like Walter Brennan says in his song : "Life gets tedious, don't it"
  12. Here is panel that can be mounted in the SXS so I can mount fire extinguiher and other things on that.
  13. I am looking at a fire extinguisher for the ATV, The SXS and my Sandrail. I guess an ABC is best. however the mounting must be secure and easily accessible . I think I will mount the one on the sandrail so it is pointing at the motor. Some manufacturers make "non corrosive" ABC fire extinguishers. For the sand rail I would want that. My gas tank is just behind my seat as seen in picture.
  14. Gooood Morning Macedonia …I am reminded this day as my close friend, a professor of Greek antiquities, always celebrates this day. On this day in 336 BC Alexander III of Macedon was named King of Macedon on the occasion of his father King Phillip’s assassination. Alexander III united the Greek City states creating the great Hellenistic period of cultural expansion. Art and war were at its zenith. Glass blowing was invented, Gold and bronze vessels are still in museums and sought by collectors of antiquities. My friend had several. Alexander III, AKA, Alexander the Great!
  15. Suburban Estates in Osceola Co.? OMG ....the Badlands of Fla!
  16. Its a 4 hour drive to the Cabwaylingo State Forest. They have nice amping areas. I like to be clean so showers and facilities are nice. The guys at the ATV shop said the summer is nice as there are streams I can wash off in.
  17. What time of they year? The Chief Logan SP and Cabwaylingo SP has cabin and camping. They both join up with the the Hat-MvC trails. The guys at the locaal Motor sports shop just rave about it and go a couple times a year,.
  18. Its not bad to change JUST$$$ oil
  19. I am not a mechanic...Just a parts replacer. Mr. Always Ready locks up solid when I pull his lever now.
  20. I got the new parking brake caliper...it was loaded. Installing it was farily easy 30minute job after I spent an hour and a half figuring out how to maneuver the caliper into position. The first pic is the Parking brake rotor with caliper installed. Second is old caliper and new. Last is the Rotor before installing new caliper. Adjusting is easy and can be done wuthout jacking Mr Alays ready up...
  21. Tate's Hell State Forrest is a Go To spot in the Fla panhandle...Never been there but it looks good. Take pictures!
  22. Hmm trying to replace arm and shoulder pads in my Joe Rocket jacket...
  23. I admit I have not tried heat. I believe the shaft is about 10 inches in with 6 inches sticking out. I have had aluminum /alloy wheels that corroded to the steel brake hubs....Steel aand aluminum do not go well together. I know with service entrance aluminum cables we had to use "NO-LOX" on the cables before lugging to the panels.
  24. However I have a recue Bike. Abandoned and left to the elements. Its an Aluminum frame Fuji Off Road bike. I have it back together with new shifter etc. However the steel seat post is bound in the aluminum frame. I have tried everything soaking it in break free, trying to turn with a pipe wrench but cannot free it.
  25. That's cool! ........... Sorry I could not resist that...LOL
