oxidized black got the pull rope off all the bolts out of the stator cover, unhooked the two water lines and removed the hoses,, pulled off the gear that the starter goes into about a 9/16 bolt head in the center. now I see three screws do they have to come out to get the cover off,, cover is loose. I dont want to break anything thanks for the help. Raybob

on a 2000 quad master is the stator location on the left side under the pull rope or on the belt side. if you are setting on the atv the pull rope is on your left side. thanks getting ready to change the stator

Is it hard to replace a stator on a 2000 quadmaster 500. tryed everything else,, ordered stator will be here soon. thanks Raybob in Kentucky

mine is doing the same thing thanks. Raybob dont replace the stuff I did because mine is do the same as yours -
will idle with switch on now but still will not take the gas quits when I give it gas, cleaned the carb, new ing switch,new coils fresh gas and new hoses is there anyway to check the cdi box. Thanks Raybob in ky

hey fuzzman I also have a 500 quad master I hope you find what wrong with yours, mine will idle but dies when you give it gas. I have changed the coil, plug, fresh gas clean the carb and replaced the hoses. someone said it may be the cdi box I am just about to quit. good luck with your quad master. Raybob in kentucky also replaced the key switch. -
I ordered a new key switch like mud flap said. hope it works $100 thanks to everyone,, Raybob switch comes in friday I will let you know

changed the plug and coil still doing it. I dont understand why it will idle with the key in light position and dies when in the on position its got me thanks Raybob

I have a 2000 quad master 500. sometimes it runs great,,,but sometimes will idle but will not take the gas it has to run with the key on with the lights if I turn it to on it dies. I put a new coil on yesterday it ran great for awhile then started it all over again. any help would be great. is there any way to check the stator. Thanks again Raybob in ky
