2005 Honda Rancher Reverse Shift Popping

I own a 2005 Honda Rancher TRX400A5. it's well used but I'm running into a problem. When I shift it into reverse then throttle it up it won't move and the system "pops" several popping noises per min. the "ESP" lamp is flashing once then twelve times befor starting the process over again. I have changed all for of the wheel sensors (like the dealer said) I also have a set of directions to syncronize them

1. turn unit key to "on"

2. hold BOTH shift switches for ten seconds

3. hold in the "UP SHIFT" button for 10 seconds.

3. hold the "down shift" button for the same

4. rev eng for 10 seconds.

That doesn't work.

What now??

thank you for the edit AJMboy.

I should have mentioned that all the sensors have been replaced and she rides just fine going forward. however if I start and need to go in reverse it doesn't like that so much. it'll move, but not at all very well. Honda says something is out of tune. The calibration directions they gave me just don't work.

I bought it localy from a shop but he doesn't have the knowlege or desire to fix my problem. Not having a trailer is proving to be a problem.

I know that some machines have a rev limiter that keeps the vehicle from running too fast in reverse, if yours has one, it could be part of the problem, just an outside thought. Or maybe one of the new wheel sensors is faulty. I would double check every thing you have done, make sure all connections are solid.

Hi guys. I have a problem where the quad will start and run well for about 5 minutes and then it dies. On inspection the airbox has oil in it (quite a lot). The oil is pumping through the cylinder head breather hose. This problem first happened suddenly. I have since done the top end including, piston, gaskets, rings and valves. I have also done the carb (not that I thought that this was the problem). The compression seems normal. The only thing that I can think of, is that I did not grind the valves well enough. Anyone experienced this? If so, how did you fix it? Any other thoughts?

From Arkansas. Just bought a 2012 Gator 850i RSX because I could not pass up the price. BUT it has an idle problem. So, to be honest, I joined just to get a service manual. I have a choice: 1)Buy a hard copy: ~$100; 2)Buy a CD ~$35.00; Get a direct download for free posting 10 times; or get a download for $29.00 (subscription). Haven't decided what to do yet.

Hi, I am having issues with my TRX350D fuel pump.  It suddenly stopped running so I have replaced all the fuses and cleaned all the terminals.  I have fitted a new pump, fuel cut-off relay and rectifier.  Still nothing!!  The pump runs when attached to a battery.  The engine will start on the choke and the filter fills with fuel but it will  not rev and dies when the choke is closed. I have power to the relay but nothing at the pump black/white wire when cranking the engine.  Any ideas where to go from here would be very much appreciated!!

So I've got a Hisun 550 that I was doing some work on that required removing the CVT and it's housing. Upon attempting to reinstall the clutch, sheaves, etc, I found that the belt no longer fits - it's far too wide. None of the parts have been replaced, they're all OEM. Exactly the same parts as what I took off a few weeks ago.
To be more specific, my belt is 1.25in wide, but the gap between the clutch and the primary sheave is only 7/8in wide. I'll include a few photos to explain.
Has anyone ever experienced such a bizarre problem? Any help at all would be appreciated, I've been stuck on this for a month. I'm open to just about any suggestion.
