The '86 and '87 TRX 350 A seems to have the same crankcase design. It would be a step up in displacement, but I don't know if it would really be much of an upgrade. Are you looking to stick something else in there because you want a better motor, or is there something wrong with the one you have?

I think your best bet would be to sell your quad and look for a different one. Since you are dealing with a 2wd, shaft driven machine, your choices of a direct swap are probably limited to the motors I mentioned in my previous post. A motor out of a newer Foreman 500 2wd may be doable, but it would take work and would probably not be worth the time, effort and money. Not only do you need the motor it there, but you need all the electrical, the ignition system and the intake, carb and exhuast systems to fit in there as well. A motor swap is more difficult and expensive than most people realize. Things need to be moved, mounts need to be fabricated, and improvisations need to be made. You would really be best just getting a different quad that better suits your needs.

Good morning, I am new to the forum. I'm 75 years old and love getting ATVs back to usable condition. I particularly like the 2006-2009 Arctic Cat 250 Utility. I currently own 6. The 2006 I am working on only has reverse and low gear. The "drive shaft" in the transmission is completely stripped where the high gear would mesh. Has anyone on here replaced the shaft. I'm told I have to split the case. I was hoping that someone on here could let me know how hard it will be. I already have it stripped down to where the shaft coming in from the clutch side is the only thing left. I was hoping I could just remove the driven clutch and drive it out from there. Directions say different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 91 trx350 4x4 with a blown top end. I don't know what happened to the poor thing but the cam journals that were round are oval shaped now. I also bought a running engine from a 92 trx350 4x4 to swap into the 91. Is there anything in particular I should be checking while the engine is out and I have good access to it and the frame?
