2005 Yamaha Bruin 250 No Start

i recently inherited this bike it has set in a garage for about 2 years,fuel was drained and all precautions taken.however when i try to start it the small electric box under the seat clicks. nothing happens when i turn the key to run,when i connect a small trickle charger to it , and turn the key on the neutral light comes on and the lights work.without the charger hooked up NOTHING.with the charger hooked up when i hit the start button i get the clicking noise.i suspect the battery but would appreciate other opinions. thanks chuckb.

Yeah, sounds like a bad battery.
