Good morning all I am new to the forum and new to the world of ATVs. I recently purchased a 99 big bear 350 4x4 that has a few issues to be resolved. it started with the push button starter it would just click when the button was pushed to date I have replaced the solenoid with a Napa 4 wire setup (not sure if this is installed correctly) and replaced the older baterry with a AGM battery. after all of that it still clicks but the source of the click is a white plastic rectangular box with 2 wires going into it. i have 12.8 volts to the first post of the solenoid and nothing on the second post when the button is pushed. when the solenoid is jumped the starter engages. lastly i have no lights when the buggy is not running and when i hit the light switch there is also a click that happens. Thanks for any info anyone can provide I greatly appreciate the help.

Update I was able to correct the no lights situation I described and the clicking has also gone away. so currently I turn on the key the neutral light comes on and when i push the start button nothing happens. I am wondering if the solenoid I purchased was bad right out of the box or if I am missing something. I am going to test the solenoid to see if I can get any info. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know I really could use some help. thanks

Did you have the 2 wires reversed on solenoid, the trigger wires? On some models they are 2 single wires, on others they are in a plug that only goes 1 way,I have been saving the solenoids off my old street bikes, they seem to work fine in these ATVs. Think one gets a hot signal the other goes to ground, the ground may be corroded. This is knowledge from older rig, hope it helps, but would test to see if the trigger wire is active using switch and the ground is making contact.. you will hear solenoid click if you jump those trigger wires.

I did have the small wires on the wrong posts. the wire that goes to the lights needs to be connected to the accessory power tab so that they would be able to turn on without the bike running. I am going to stop and grab another solenoid on the way home today in case i need it but will run some more tests on the current set up before I install anything else. I am just so new to the wheeler game i am learning on the fly.

Ok so I got back after it and charged the battery , the old solenoid put back in the start button was tested and was fine but cleaned it up anyway. got the whole rig back together and still no start. when the start button is pushed the starting cut off relay clicks. I took that relay out and have tested that and that is fine as well. I am just not getting the power to the Solenoid to close the loop. any thoughts? this one is driving me crazy

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

I have a 1997 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4. It used to start right up. Then all of a sudden it wouldn't crank. I have a schematic for it so I started tracing the problem. I had no power at the starter solenoid. According to the schematic the power comes from the neutral switch and through the starter circuit cut out relay. I cannot locate the cut out relay on this machine.. If I apply power to the relay it will crank with the start button.
The neutral switch is hard to get to with all the brackets on this thing. I did find out from all my research that if I apply the rear brake lever it will start.
Does anybody know if the cut out relay exists and where it might be found?

I rebuilt the carb on said machine. When I hook up the auxiliary gas tank it runs fine and everything is cool. When I put the fuel tank on and hooked up the lines, it completely flooded the cylinder and even about an inch of fuel in the air box. I'm pretty sure that it comes from the little hose on the petcock and hooks to the top of the carb. WTH is that even for? I mean the thing runs fine on the auxiliary tank, so idk And on the petcock when it's in the "on" position, I get no fuel. The petcock from the bike I took it apart and checked out how it operates. The sharpie marks indicate how it really works. Now the other petcock w/o the sharpie marks is an old one that was leaking that I removed from a Polaris quad. It's exactly the same thing, except the small hose and nipple have been removed. I'm so confused, LOL

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, I am new to  this forum and I am happy to be here.  I purchased a Yamaha 350 Big Bear without a title and I cannot find a Vin number to find out what year it is.  I am hoping someone here can help me identify this atv. I checked on the main frame near the front A-arm left side found nothing.  I checked up near the radiator and found nothing.  Where else should I look?  See image below.
