2016 polaris 570 sportsman , did not come with radiator side guards

I am new to this forum, have been atving  for 3 yrs.  recently got rid of my old 2006 Yamaha Kodiak , bought an new  2016 570 sportsman , I noticed that it was rather open in the front portion of the bike , so I installed alum. checker  plate to protect the battery  and rad . hose.  but I did not think to protect the exposed sides of the rad. as I live in northern british Columbia and we drive on old logging roads and we clear a lot of trails. on my 3 rd ride I got a stick thru the rad, and into the  elec. fan .  2 rides  later  the fan broke apart.  but luckily  I ahd since put on home made side guards out of sheet metal .. this actually  created better air flow and kept the machine cooler, but my problem is with polaris,  they installed side rad  guards  on the 2014  models- the 2015 models, then took them off for 2016 , I have seen lots of complaints about over heating, as a result of no air flow  across the bike , due to no guards, then I get a picture of a 2016.5   limited edtion Canadian 570  that has rad. side guards, I put in an appeal and they will not come good for the fan and motor, I like the  bike a lot , but am not very happy with polaris and their stupid idea  to remove the side guards, not everyone drives on logging  roads

I have not  taken photos  of them  yet  , but I am going to take some  and post them on the site, the original  ones that polaris  chose not to install were around 20 $   . can.  so for 40 $   , which would be our cost , not their cost , they are taking on some bad press, the ones I made , I have been a millwright for 40 yrs.  are made  out of sheet metal  , and I used bondo  glass  ,  a short hair type of fibre glass  to join the two sections, I made templates out of card board to fit them, I then  just drilled  holes  and used   zip ties  to attach them to the body , this way I can remove them fast for servicing , the  bike .  then of course  give them a coat of black paint and you are good to go , I will also take pics of the lower protectors  I made

thanks  for moving it to the polaris forum, I have been trying to get on that forum, but I have had no luck trying to register, that's why I joined quadcrazy.com, maybe there are other folks  who have had issues with no rad . side guards

Looks like they are moved to our Polaris Forum by AJMBOY, under branded forums.  Just makes it easier to categorize and find. Looking forward to see what you have made, I always enjoy seeing what others come up with for their quads.

also , I forgot to mention  that I had been able to read about owners of sportsman 570 `s  complaining about  their  right legs getting  hot ,almost to the point of burning,  that is exactly  what ws happening to me , before I put on homemade radiator  guards, then on one ride I figured it out . we had been riding for close to 2 hrs.   and I noticed that mu inside right leg was not as hot as it usually  was , since I drove the 570. what was different,  the fact that I had put on the rad  side guards, which  # 1.  protected  the rad from sticks.   but #2,  it was now directing the air flow across the rad. and not letting  slipstream around   the rad , and letting the air take the path of least resistance.  my first impression  was , what did the polaris people  think by removing these. , my bike ran cooler  with 20$

worth of sheet  metal  , plus  my rad . was now protected.

THE  2 plates on the left made out of alum.  checker  plate are the lower  body guards to protect the battery and rad hoses,  which  polaris  left wide open and unprotected, I am just lucky that the battery  was not taken out by a stick, the 2 plates on the right are the rad. side guards  made out of sheet metal, the are specific  to the right and  left   sides  , and are just mounted with zip ties so they can be removed quickly to service the bike

So I have an 89 Yamaha moto 4 250cc and when I ride it, itll get hot after like 10-15 mins and then will just die and turn off.
It's has new carb rebuild, new air filter, new battery, new spark plug so I don't think it's a crack in the spark plug
      Can anyone help me?

having an issue with the unit when running under a load up a hill or in high gear, seems like the belt is slipping, there is a clapping sound coming from the primary clutch like it releases and snaps back in. i don't think I should have a noise like that. this is a friends unit and he has already replaced the primary twice with the same result.
not sure where to look next

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

      Hi guys
My 87 Bear 350 won't start and could use a hand.
Turn key on and Oil light turns on and then slowly fades out. (I think this is key to this) No start, not even a tick.
      battery and connections good
A Solenoid post jump turns it over
Neutral Safety Switch wire attached and seems good
It has not had a wire/switch on Rear Brake Pedal ever since I had it.
Any thoughts on some other things to troubleshoot this??
