2008 Suzuki King Quad 750 Hours No Display

New to Suzuki and bought my 750 a few months back. Display was foggy so I ordered a new one. When I installed the new one everything worked except the hours. Instead of miles and hours reading 0. My hours read like this -------.-

I put 13 miles on first display sent. Still no change on my hours display. I contacted bike bandit where I bought it and they sent me another one. Same thing, 9 miles but no hour display other then -------.-  I plug my old display in and everything works fine. I register hours and mileage. My Suzuki dealer is even stumped. Part numbers are correct. I just can't image I was sent 2 new displays that are doing this. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as my service wrighter at the dealership says. He spoke with the mechanics and there is no procedure on installing a new display. Other then just plugging it in. I've also read the service manual I have and there's no section other then how to replace the display. Bacially plug and play. Hes waiting to hear back from Suzuki themselves to see if they ran into this or is a known problem. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I'm not 100% sure, but you may want to contact another suzuki dealer, specifically the parts department and ask if they need to program anything. Maybe hours don't come up for a reason unless programmed by a dealer. Just guessing though.
Also every other dealership I've called. Wants me to bring it in and charge me. No diagnostic over the phone....

  • Ajmboy changed the title to 2008 Suzuki King Quad 750 Hours No Display

I changed your topic title a bit to add the issue and full ATV info so hopefully you'll get some better answers as people search here and on the web. It's odd because if there was an issue, it would usually show Err or something like that. How many hours were you riding when you did the 9 and 13 miles?

I'd say 2 to 3 hours first 13. 1 to 1.5h the second one at 9 miles

Sorry I suck at these forums so if you see this submitted under update status, my bad. Anyhow this is a new shock for a 96 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 it fits my 96 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 4x4 perfectly. Little narrower are the bottom than the original but everything else is perfect. I extended it to almost a half in from full extension because I’m pushing 350 pounds.  It rides and hold me well. So if any of y'allRace driven shock. have been looking for one and didn’t want to do the research here it is.

I have a 1988 Quadrunner 250 2wd. My brother in law sold it to my son for $20...had been sitting outside for several years. Got it home and had it running in about 30 mins. Ran it a bit and then went to looking at the carb as it was having trouble idling. Was getting it pretty close, then started losing spark...Also, it wouldn't start up every time...only about 1 in 5 tries. Anyway...now, it has what I can only describe as "intermittent" spark. I can get 1 light spark right when the start button is pressed and sometimes one when it's released...but none while cranking. 🤷‍♂️

I have replaced the spark plug, ignition coil/wire, and traced wires best I can. I noticed a couple frayed wires at the pickup coil where it enters the case. So, now I have the cover off, stator and pickup coil out and trying to test the coil. I do have about 114 ohms resistance for pickup best I can tell. And I can read minute voltage when I drag a magnet across it. Could it still be bad? Can a bad ignition switch/button cause this? (I did have the switch off to oil the choke cable)...pulling rope makes no difference though...any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!!! It's the intermittent part that's throwing me off!

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

Howdy y'all, I'm trying to fix a neighbors 2015 Brute Force 300. Came in with hard to start and won't idle except on choke issue. I pulled the carb and found the pilot jet as well as the emulsion tube partially clogged. Cleaned up everything, put it back together, still having issues...  It will start right up on choke and will also start off choke if you give it just a touch of throttle but it absolutely will not idle unless it's choked just a touch. Also, excuse my ignorance but I'm assuming the "dial" thingy attached to the carb that turns in and out is for setting idle??
