07 trx400 oil drain bolt housing cracked

We had a member that had this problem.  It’s a tough call working with this sort of thing.

JB well does work but it’s not a permanent fix by any means.   There are secondary drain plugs you can install that get installed and they have another drain plug that’s within the new plug. Much smaller hole but it works.  You could install that and carefully thread it in with high heat silicone.  That should hold on for a while but you have to constantly check it.

Second way to do it is have a good heli arc welder weld the cracks and maybe re tap it.

Hey Bro I used these myself on spark plugs that got striped out and never had a problem so thing I go this route over the JB weld any time.I used it ti in crazy places always worked but if you lost the oil that work but the end if it.

Good luck hope it works for ever what route you choose buy heli coil is very safe and no real pressure on it either like a spark plug has

I'm assuming, it's alright to test the engine after adjusting valves without the rear axle installed? Can someone please verify this? I'm waiting on axle parts and wanting to get that done while waiting. Thanks! 🙂

So here where I live in Newfoundland Canada, they let you drive your bike on the road provided it’s registered and insured same goes for crossing highways but on trails you don’t need to be insured. And I don’t even think you need a full license to insure your bike they said it was up to the insurance company. I’m trying to get my old 1985 Suzuki 250 registered they have to do a search for it to make sure it hasn’t been in anyone else’s name first. Hopefully it comes back clean I am pretty excited
