1999 Yamaha Warrior 350 Oil leak, appears part missing

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I’m working on my sons 99 Yamaha Warrior 350. When I pulled the plastic cover off left side of engine, I can see oil leak at the seal. I pulled the bolt out and then the starter boss(I guess that’s what it’s called?) I can see that the boss doesn’t make contact with the seal. Is there a spacer of some type that slides on to the boss, to make contact with the seal? This seal is held in place with a plate with 3 screws in it. This boss slides into the bearing in the stator. I have been to parts websites and I don’t see what I’m needing. Maybe it’s just the wrong seal?

I'm repairing a 96 Timberwolf 2x4. Many years ago a dog chewed the wires that go from stator to the rectifier/regulator, and I've had to use the pull start ever since. Ive since lost the plug for the stator and on the wiring harness side. I'm ordering a new stator that will also come with the female plug that I need to fix it on the wiring harness side, but I have no clue in what position to put those 3 white wires(ones I'm holding with electrical tape on them) back into the new plug. Since they're all the same color, does it matter? Any info on this or pictures anyone has of their own will be very much appreciated.

Sorry, bit of newbie question on Honda TRX520
Can anyone tell me if it is necessary to drain the engine oil to just remove the oil filter cover?
I recently carried out an oil change and when checking afterwards, found oil leaking from around the oil filter cover (was torqued to 10Nm). I am going to get new O rings to be on the safe side, but was wondering how high the oil level in the engine sits relative to the pump filter and do I have to drain the oil?
      TIA
      Nigel

I received an additional parts engine with a 220 Bayou I purchased, but I believe it's a couple years newer than the ATV, Is there a way to decode the engine serial number like we can with VIN numbers?
