Having serious problems with quad it completely stopped running on me took carb off and tore apart cleaned everything put back on and it started idled but when driving it had no power at all so took carb back off and noticed their was a puddle of gas and oil in the bottom of the air filter box and also their was gas in the vacuum line HELP

Hey @Amboyjim welcome to Quadcrazy!
Check the diaphragm on the fuel pump. If the diaphragm is bad and gets a hole in it the fuel gets sucked into the carburetor via the vacuum line and floods the engine and winds up getting kicked back into the air box.

Also when you set the air fuel screw after the carburetor rebuild did you set it properly?

Thanks for the help the diaphragm is good and still in the process of rebuilding it again waiting for new parts to come in and I havent done a compression check yet maybe I should do that after I get the carb back on

yea theres definitely a carb issue going on.  does your quad start sputtering once it gets hot and trying to cut out on you?  just wondering because i had a yamaha warrior that was collecting gas and oil in the airbox and it would run awesome until it warmed up and then it would quit

and that bike didnt have a fuel pump- just gravity fed

It could be a bad rectifier also once it gets warmed up.  Very possible.

yea i didnt think about that..  i was pretty sure with my bike it was due to me rebuilding it with a used piston and rings off another atv that i rebuilt lol.  but it could be the case with your atv

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

I am new to this site. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport I think. Is there a difference between quadsport and quadrunner?

1st problem, Does anyone know where I can find a stock carb for my Timberwolf, I have tried two different aftermarket carbs and they both suck. The machine runs great until it gets good and warm, then it keeps stalling unless I feather the throttle. it will even stall while I'm trying to go from 1st to reverse or vise versa. I took it to a buddy of mine who is a bike mechanic for years, and he told me try to find a factory carb. When I look online from dealers it says "NOT AVAILABLE" anyone have any suggestions ?

2nd, The small tab on the rear axle for towing is to short for even pulling my small yard trailer, I can't even turn a little bit and hit hits. I tried making an extension which worked great as far as length, but it bends the tab and then the extension drags the ground. I have an idea of what to do to fix it, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and see how you solved it.

Third one Follows more of what happens after .

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.
