Arctic cat 450 Can someone help me?

Recommended Posts

  • Admin changed the title to Arctic cat 450 Can someone help me?

The first digit represents the country of origin. The most common are:

  • 1 or 4 = USA
  • 2 = Canada
  • 3 = Mexico
  • J = Japan
  • K = Korea
  • E = England
  • W = Germany
  • Z = Italy

2nd and 3rd letters signify Arctic Cat

4th and 5th are model year
6-8 are type (SNW snowmobile, ATV, MPV prowler etc)
9th is a check digit
10th is the last digit of the year (9 = 2009, A=2010, B=2011, C=2012 etc)
11th is a "T" This one I don't know why, just that its always a "T"
12-17 are the "serial number"

Your  Cat was made in 2010

Hey everyone! Just introducing myself and hoping I can get some insight on where to start. I have an older quad, my guess is about an 07. I know it’s a 700 but I’m having some stalling issues with it after it runs for about ten minutes it will die out. It will start right back up and run but after a minute or two it will die again. Any suggestions on where to start checking things?

I am looking for pictures of your carburetors, specifically looking for what type and where the hoses go on the red circles.

I have a 2007 700 EFI that I purchased new. It broke down 9.5 miles out on the trail the day I bought it and has been in the shop in two states almost ever since. All warrenties are now expired and I have a quad that still does not run. I have only managed to put 304 miles on it in 3 years. I am a auto mechanic and have technical back ground. I maintain, repair, and build all my other quads and bikes as well. This one has been under warranty and the princable of it has kept me taking it back to the dealers. Now it's up to me to repair it.
To start out, it is flashing codes 41, 42, and 43. Can anyone give me code descriptions? Thank you.

I have a 2006 artic cat 500. It runs fine, but once you put it in gear it wont budge, cant push it, wheels are locked. If you try to throttle up, the motor bogs down, almost like its gonna choke out.
Put it in neutral and it will roll all day.
Is this a belt issue, or am I looking at major repairs.

Waiting 3 months for my Ebay order for a Polaris clutch needle bearing down here in Peru. The chinese clutch is doing well without abuse but the ebs one way bearing turned out to be short lived, already sticking and making gear change tricky.
I was wondering if anyone knows the equivalent for this part on SKF, FAG,Timken or other brands? As far as I know the OD is 1 3/4"  ID 1 1/2 " and width  1 5/16" , Polaris markets this part as an exclusive product while a cage needle bearing should
be available over the counter for other appliances if you have the right numbers. Unfortunately here in South America all knowledge is lost since the new generation people took over and Chinese junk reigns supreme.
