Is there any blow back at filter(popping, backfiring, coughing, spitting fuel back etc?)?. If There is you need to check valve clearances to make sure they are correct. You then need to clean the carburetor. The second thing to check is the ignition system.
I have run upon the following that causes the plugs to fowl out.
1. Bad fuel system or carburetor. Example had a Honda fowling plugs, coughing with reduced power and otherwise ran ok. I replaced the carb and it still did same thing and worse. So I took old carb apart cleaned it and adjusted it by the manual. I put it back on and machine ran good. So do not think because you buy a new carb it will always be a good one, especially these after market carbs.
2. Valves. I had one machine that backfired when you let off the accelerator, fowled out the plugs etc. The valves were to tight causing this.
3. Ignition system. Coils, CDI modules and ignition stators can be bad causing the plug not to fire hot enough. This will cause plug fowling. Had a running machine with a CDI module that was bad causing it to run a while then it would get hard to start. I removed plug and it was partially fowled out(it was still firing but not 100% so it was hard starting. I also had a machine that had a resistive ground that caused the ignition not to fire hot enough.
4. Engine cylinder compression. If the cylinder compression is low it will also cause plug fowling.

There is many many thing that can cause plug fowling.
Hope this info helps you find your problem.
There is in the service manuals a troubleshooting guide that will help you locate the probable cause. I suggest you get a service manual and read it. Even though I am familiar with ATVs I always get a service manual when the problem is more then just a bad switch or lose wire.

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

I've been trying to piece this Lakota 300 back together, slowly. It's been a rabbit hole however. I replace one thing, then it leads to replacing other things. Anyway, When I got this thing I noticed that the hose coming off the camshaft cover wasn't attached to anything, it was just hanging loose. (It's literally just a foot long hose attached to nothing) I figured since it was venting the head it would be ok and I am sure it is.
However, last night I was looking at the service manual and noticed that it mentioned that this atv has a crankcase breather tube as well. Mine does not have one, so I looked at Partzilla and looked at the parts diagram and sure enough, it's definitely supposed to have one. The problem however is, the service manual does not show how it hooks up and the parts diagram only shows the exploded view of the assembly. I just find that kind of strange, nowhere in the manual does it show how it connects. Does it have it connector, attach to a nipple? It just doesn't say and it bothers me that there is a hole there without anything attached to it.  If anyone has a Bayou 300 or Lakota 300 with an intact breather vent system and could possibly take some clear photos of it or know how it connects I would be very grateful. I have searched high and low and cannot find any information on it.

      Thanks

First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?
