So I recently cleaned my carb on my 1986 Quadrunner 230GE and had to replace my fuel pump and now it seems im getting to much air and I can not use carb to adjust it I believe its coming in from either my air box or one of the air ducts or possibly the clear air container that is under front of quad that runs into the air filter bag but im not sure. Has anyone have any experience with this happening quad will idle super high and nothing can lower it except blocking off a air duct that leads to main air box i also have to check again for any cracks or leaks in air lines and box and ducts any advice will help im stumped ! What else can cause to much air coming in ? Could it be a leak from engine or top end ?

Look for a vacuum leak or misadjusted throttle cable.

AI fixed the throtle cable Im sure its a vacume leak either from duct going into box but im leaning towards the flange on fuel side or carb that hooks up to top end of engine .Just have to wait for rain to stop as i dont have a garage or shed

So I found the leak it was one of the ducts going into air box was actually easy just tightened clamp amd all good . Then I had a cheapo carb on it that I could not adjust at all so i pulled pilot jet and it had no oring so air was getting in there also im sure ! So I put the OEM back on after a rebuild and cleaning it it did take some time to adjust but its running pretty good as of now I will take it out today for a ride and then next is back brakes and rebuilding front brake cylinders Should be fun !!!!! Thanks for all the help

Yes they are very good but I think i got it now my throtle cable is hanging up so when I turn bars while adjusting carb its racing from cable Ughhh Just ordered a cable so once I had my son hold the cable from where it was coming apart by adjustment screw on cable it went down to perfect idle no popping so hopefully this will be it! I took it out for a ride and as long as cable was good it ran best it has in a while But I may get that smoke machine for my garage because i have a leak on my pickup truck 4 wheel drive IWE system but thats another story lol Im doing a leakdown teat on quad this week also thanks again ill post how everything is when cable comes

i am seeing that same smoke machine go from $120 to $250 on ebay and amazon so don't get ripped off / i found one on ebay for $120 and it comes with smoke fluid/ i am seeing another smoke machine made by the same company 'Autoline pro' for $70 )it doesn't have the hook on the top and the pictures say it doesn't come with any smoke fluid ( the $120 smoke machine with the hook i like the design better but with shipping it is about $150)

I watched some videos on youtube and the mechanic highly recommends this tool (i found one for $15 +$5 shipping from china)

it's kind of annoying because my dad can be so cheap i could never see him spending $200 and whenever i spend a bunch of money my mom always yells at me...

I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?

I am looking for a PDF version of a manual for a Suzuki Quadrunner 250.  I am not sure of the year, but believe it is a late 1990s model.

      Hello all!
I was given a 2000 Suzuki Quadrunner 500 (Quad 500 Runner?) and its current state is a bit of a mystery!
Kept indoors but hasn't been run in 5 years.  We're not trying the engine until the gas is replaced, and the tires are reinflated. But the previous owner said their only issue was stalling when shifting to reverse without giving some throttle.
      I'm optimistic!  See y'all around!

Hello, inherited this machine from my father. Runs poorly. Getting fuel in the air box. I’m looking for information on timing  it and bringing her back to life. John

After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.
