All I want in the future is an solid, extremely reliable quad that I never get bored of. So far the Brute has been great but I know the time will come when I'm ready for something new, and I hope there will be something awesome enough to grab my heart's desire.

What I think will exist:

EFI 450s

More big-bore sport quads

More IRS sport quads

More 800cc or bigger 4x4s

And honestly, I think in about 5 years, the companies will begin to consider electric quads. Once the Chevy Volt starts being sold, a whole new realm of possibilities will exist.

I would like to see a fuel-injected version of the Honda TRX450

Give them a few. Rumor has it that they are putting EFI on one of the upcoming CRF450s. The report I heard says after they work the kinks out of it on the CRF it will be on the TRX.

I agree, that would be AWSOME. The TRX is actually the lowest costing 450. At 7 grand!
This gives me an idea for a new thread. I got a deal on my '05 at $4999back in Oct of '06. It was $5499 OTD. I had never ridden a quad in my life. I had 6 grand on me that day and was planning on buying a Mustang. For some strange reason thats beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I was sitting on an '05 when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said load it up in my truck. Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07.

Here is the Mustang I was going to buy instead.

Yeah there is no way I can afford a new quad. I would still like

to see some larger body smaller displacement quads from the major

manufacturers for the teens. So that they can ride a quad that fits

them but is not against the law or whatever.

Oh, and how about more 4WD sport quads? Like a Raptor that can power the front 2 wheels? Or more Renegade style quads...

And finally, LIGHTER UTILITY QUADS. It's getting ridiculous. Next thing we know, they will weigh 900-1000 pounds!

4WD sports sounds cool...

But, even though I'm in the "scene" for about 1 1/2 years, I don't understand the "HUGE" bore quad....e.g. the AC 1000.

Heck, my BF 650 wants to dig to China when I mash the throttle standing still.....

Sport quads I understand your concern about weight , but as far as an utility quad needs a certain amount of weight for utility purposes. I agree they need to produce more sport 4x4's.Also think they need more 5 speed utility quads and more bigbores with an SRA .

I agree about the utilities, but how much is enough?

My BF is about 620 lbs. wet...that's a LOT of weight, and has a towing capacity of 1200 lbs.

Ok....that's it.....me and my BF against Bigfoot in a tug-o-war!

Yeah, I'd say with the ITP wheels/tires I have my Brute is over 650 pounds without me on it. The tires (TerraCrosses) do a great job of making it feel a lot lighter, but when it starts to lean, you can really feel it. Gets scary in off-camber situations.

I was being conservative then about the weight....

I have th '07 BF 650 4x4i (should be in my sig) with the ITP TerraCross' as well....

And MAN, do I agree about off-camber situations.

THEY SUCK!!!!!

And me being 6'2" doesn't help balance either....

If you've ever been to BRUTECENTRAL HOME , do a forum search on "lowering kits". I'm SO tempted to try it out.

But...since this has nothing to do with the future of ATVs, I'll stop now ;)

I have the SAME quad as you! '07 650i...great in everything except those off-camber parts. I would try out a lowering kit too if I were a trail-only rider, but I'm doing more and more mud each ride, so lowering it would do the opposite of what I want.

I read some reviews on Brute Central that the lowering kit didn't effect some of the mudders....

But, I guess it all depends on where you ride.....

I ride on some rocky trails at times.....that's my only concern...

It was on topic...all related to the weight of the quads and how all of it affects our riding.
FUTURE of ATVS is the name of this thread. TB was just trying to ask you nicely to stay on topic. It would have been been on topic if yous said Kawasaki needs to lower the Brute force. So please either start a new thread about that topic and respect this thread. I say start a new thread about because some BruteForce riders might agree with you.

TB sorry to hijack your thread, but it looked like nobody else is going to back you up.

As the title says I am on the search for a used OEM 1995 King Quad Carb. I believe it says Mikuni on the side. If you could even help me find info on which carb it is exactly that would be helpful too, or motorcycles/other quads that use the same carb. Thanks!

      Hi everyone,
I often work on both ATVs and larger construction equipment, and I’m always on the hunt for solid OEM manuals—service, repair, and parts. The usual searches give a lot of random PDFs or unofficial scans that aren’t very trustworthy.
What online sources do you all use when you need a factory manual quickly? Are there sites you’ve found that consistently provide genuine OEM content for ATVs or heavy machinery?
I recently came across Heavy Equipment Manual, which claims to provide verified OEM service and parts manuals (covering brands like Caterpillar, Komatsu, Kubota, etc.). Has anyone here tried it, or do you have other go-to resources you’d recommend?
I’m interested in options that are:
      ·        Fast to download
      ·        Cover both heavy equipment and ATV models
      ·        Clear on licensing and safety
Thanks for sharing your experiences and any recommendations!

Hello my name is David, I have been riding for over 30 years ATV, dirt bikes, S x S you name it. I ride with a small group off and on though out the years. Currently, we have only three of us that have been riding this year and we are looking for more people to join us!
If you're in the Northern California area and looking for people to join on weekend and day trip rides send me an email: [email protected]! We have been to many OHV sites all over the state and we usually try to meet up for a ride once a month.
I look forward to hearing from you!

The family has two quads and have been asking where to ride around here- we are about 70 miles north of spokane and looking for places that are nice to go visit for beginners.
We have a 2003 Polaris sportsman, and a 2004 Artic Cat 2-up (I forget the size)

I have an older 2000 Honda 450 ES which has been a tremendous workhorse since owning it new.  I'm now looking to update neglected maintenance on the machine, looking for advice initially on brake work?
