I have a Suzuki Quadmaster 500, that I got from a customer. It has less than 400 miles on it. I think I put most of the miles on it, so they sold it to me. I used to drive it a few times a year, treatinjg the gas or emptying it when I could.
I relocated and wanted to get it running again. It will start with little trouble, then run for 15-20 minutes, then start to chug a bit, then finally stop. Sometimes I can start it again, but it doesnt continue to run long after that.
when I first opened the oil filter when I moved, it was drenched in oil and fell apart. I went and replaced it with a OEM foam filter. I notice now, when it does stop, there is a small amount of oil on the bottom the air filter box, and it's clean oil. I had recently changed the oil before I moved. Each time I clean that up, I go through the same process. It will run, and I can drive it for a bit, but then it slows down and stops.
Any suggestions? I am not an ATV mechanic by far, but can work on most of the stuff I own. I did have trouble finding a dealer who would work on it. One local one, said "We dont' work on stuff that's over 20 years old" It can't be because of parts, I just laughed.

Picked up a 2000 prairie 300 4x4. It is leaking out of the rear output seal where the driveshaft contacts to the engine. I'm havi g a really hard time finding out how to remove the driveshaft online, finding a service manual, and finding the seal on a parts diagram. Anyone know how to remove the driveshaft or know where a service manual is for it?
Thanks

I just bought this a couple of weeks ago. The oil sightglass was FULL. When I opened the fill plug, oil/gasoline LITERALLY gushed out and flowed for several seconds...FROM THE FILL PLUG! I drained it, changed the filter (no metal bits), and refilled with new oil. Opened up the carb and cleaned the float needle. Blew into the fuel inlet while manipulating the float and it seems to work. Buttoned everything back up and it runs good. Now my question...was the fuel getting into the engine because of a stuck float needle or is there something else wrong?

Hi everyone,
Outlander 2006 400 XT i have replace the startor cover and right after i did that the oil light is on and not turn off, i check the wires and checked the oil level, everything seem to be normal quad is starting without any problem and rev just fine. i did not want to ride it since im not sure if it is faulty sensor or not so just be safe i did not let it run more the a minute or so.
I have read in the owner manual that i need to clean the oil strainer every 200hr unfortunately i never did that, my service manual that i have does not even indicate of such a thing. so i did some search around and it seem like canam split the manual into 3 parts
owner manual
service manual
engine manual
I have the first 2 but i can not find the last one, part number 219100232. If someone can guide me where do i find the oil strainer so i can clean it i will appreciate it. im going to do an oil pressure test tomorrow to check how many PSI i have, just to make sure.
Thanks
