1994 yamaha blaster vs 2008 honda recon 420

My pleasure. I bought one of these new and hopped it up with a toomey B1 kit. plus i've worked on LOTS of em hehe. witht he right jetting you can really make these scream!

I had to modify that post cuz I was looking right at it and described the wrong one! oh no! It is correct now, please reread it.

I remember distinctly that the oil line had a cast barb on the nipple! ew!

carb slide mod? like machining the slide? I haven't seen one but imagine soemone has tried it. better on a 2 stroke to machine the piston skirt.

yea bunch of people have been doing this to their carbs it gives you better throttle response if interested i can get it off another site or i can just send the link it works on anything with vacuum slide

a recon 420? do you mean the rancher 420? i thought recons only came in the 250cc es and standard models, 2wd

ok i need this question answer quickly before i might make a fool of myself. my friend is picking up a 2008 honda recon 420 tomarrow and i dont know if i should race him or not. im pretty sure i would beat him but just going here to have some questions answered first.

1) obviously, he will beat me on the trails. but any hint on how to outrun him making him feel like an idiot?

2) any mods i might want to get before i race him? nothing toooo expensive

3)do you think i will win or not? im a pretty good rider and he used to have a big bear 400 that he rode like once a month and never got out of 3rd gear, so hes not the greatest rider. like they say. its the rider that wins the race, not the bike

Thats the truth man its the rider not the machine i got a honda recon 250 and i smoked my cuzin on a 500 formen honda but he aint that good of a rider and i know the 4-wheeler can out run mine if he rode it rite.
