:confused:I know I have asked this before but just want to be sure! The axle's do just " pop " out correct? I have never taken one apart before. I tore a boot and toasted the cv joint. I have a slide hammer and will attempt this tomorrow. Does anyone know what a shop will charge to replace one? Sorry its been a long time since I have been on site but with two kids in hockey and construction the way it is did not have the money to mess with it. Hockey is over know but unfortunatly I tore my rotator mucles in shoulder and will be out of work till June. I now have nothing but time to mess with stuff so figured I would get the ATV ready for summer.

After trying myself gave up. I am not supposed to do anything with my left arm and this was a little to involved to try with one good arm so I took it over to my dads and explained to him what I was going to do. We decided we would wait till tomorrow and that was that. My dad just called me an hour ago and he has it out already. One light rap and it was out!

Nice, glad to hear that. Most of the time you can take a small pry bar or large flat head screwdriver, and wedge it between the case and joint. Then edge it out.

What type of ATV was this on?

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?

I am trying to diagnose a no spark issue with my 02 Big Bear 400 and I am really hoping it is not a CDI.  I have done the test on the stator and I believe that is faulty.  I ordered a new aftermarket one from a the jungle website and it tested bad right out of the box so I am waiting for a different one to arrive from an ATV parts supplier.  I started looking out of curiosity at CDI units and it seems if it is for a big bear you are SOL.  Kodiaks, no problem.  Big Bear. No such luck.

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?
