2001 polaris scrambler 500 light problems

Recommended Posts

hey guys i"m new here but I have a problem hoping you guys could help. I have a 2001 polaris scrambler 500 and when i bought it the battery was bad. I would just start it with the pull start and everything worked fine. The head lights, the lights by the key turn, and the 4 wheel drive light . Then, I finally decided to buy a new battery and set up it up like I was suppose to and then installed it onto my a.t.v. Now, for some reason the lights don"t work any more. I looked around to see if a fuse box was on the a.t.v but I haven"t found one. Does anybody have a idea of where one could be or what could be the problem ? Any info. that you guys could help me with would be very nice.

thanks

First, disconnect the battery again and see if things start working again. If they do, then I would guess there is some kind of short in a circuit that is directly connected to the battery. There is also a possibility that your battery cables are shot. Does the battery stay charged, you should check the voltage at the battery when it is disconnected, when it is connected, and when it is connected and running. If the voltage goes down when you connect the battery, that is evidence of a dead short, a faulty connection/component, or bad cables. If the cables are good and the battery is getting a charge, the voltage should go up a bit when the motor is running.

having an issue with the unit when running under a load up a hill or in high gear, seems like the belt is slipping, there is a clapping sound coming from the primary clutch like it releases and snaps back in. i don't think I should have a noise like that. this is a friends unit and he has already replaced the primary twice with the same result.
not sure where to look next

Hi, I am having issues with my TRX350D fuel pump.  It suddenly stopped running so I have replaced all the fuses and cleaned all the terminals.  I have fitted a new pump, fuel cut-off relay and rectifier.  Still nothing!!  The pump runs when attached to a battery.  The engine will start on the choke and the filter fills with fuel but it will  not rev and dies when the choke is closed. I have power to the relay but nothing at the pump black/white wire when cranking the engine.  Any ideas where to go from here would be very much appreciated!!

The stock driver seat cushion is separated at a seam. I took the seat apart and found that the material has torn and cannot be re-stiched. I'm trying to find a replacement seat. Any suggestions? Hoping for a used seat but couldn't find one on Ebay.

      Hi,
Got a Big Boss produced 2016 YM 2017 that gives DTC 520 285 2 (random)
What I understand is correlation code for brakesensors, very little information in workshop manual.
Removed front plastic to discover that no connector was mounted on the brake pressure switch!?
The only "brake" information seems to come from the micro switch at the brake lever.
Does anyone know if Polaris does anything special on the 6x6 or had this issue?
