2002 bombardier quest 650 misfires in reverse

Hi,I have a 2002 bombardier quest 650 .It misfires in reverse anybody have any ideas on what the problem is, it runs great going forward.

most likely the reverse override is cutting in. it causes the engine to backfire when it does.

Gearhead x2, Yamaha does the same thing EXCEPT the 01 raptor 660.

Is there an overrride button? Some quads do this in reverse when you have 4WD with Diff Lock on. Does it have Diff Lock? Does it do it in 2WD in reverse?

If it doesn not miss in forward as well then you are just hitting the speed brake for reverse. Most quads have them.

its no over ride button! these quads dont have one, will beat anything in reverse when running properly. mine has had the same prob for years, just hold the leaver back a little and it should go away but just this week mine now limits its self if every gear! brp and electrical issues...

Hi , thanks for the info,I ordered an override switch which I am going to install which will cure the problem.

that is what i figured was the problem. every machine made has a reverse override switch. sometimes you can bypass them but it is put there for safety.

Not every machine has an override switch, but most do have a reverse gear rev limiter I think that is what you are speaking of though. The override should be on every machine, they are really nice to have, the limiter can be a pain at times.
