1999 Yamaha Blaster Brakes Locked

Ok, I got the brakes fixed. They work great. The next problem is I let my friend mess with while I was at school. He did some cleaning and light service work like greased the front end and cleaned the K & N. Thats is were my problem is now. He cleaned the filter then apparently rode it before the filter was dry, and now it wont start. Is it just a simple carb clean to get it going again, or is it worse than that? He said he just rode it up and down the street like twice then parked it. Let me know guys. Thanks.

a 'little' water should make it bark and snort, but not quit. remove the filter and see if it goes. If not, pull the plug and put your thimb over the hole, kick it- see if you have good compression. It should easily push your thumb off the hole. While the plug is out, hook it to the wire, lay it on the head and kick it- look for a nice blue spark.

Make sure your fuel is new and turned on.

If you have compression, spark and fuel it should start.

It may not be the air filter at all.

Let us know

:aargh:

Got it. I took the filter off and let it set over night. While I was at it I tore the carb apart and cleaned it. Put it back together, kicked it once and it started. I love it when things work like they are supposed to. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Marc

I see quite a few ads for that  Tribotex additive. It's kind of expensive, has anyone used it it their ATV or any other vehicle?

Sorry I suck at these forums so if you see this submitted under update status, my bad. Anyhow this is a new shock for a 96 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 it fits my 96 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 4x4 perfectly. Little narrower are the bottom than the original but everything else is perfect. I extended it to almost a half in from full extension because I’m pushing 350 pounds.  It rides and hold me well. So if any of y'allRace driven shock. have been looking for one and didn’t want to do the research here it is.

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!
