2007 Honda Rancher 420 Hesitates

If I start in gear it hesitates when i try to take off. i can put in neutral rev up then shift in gear it works fine !?!??!?!!?? Confused and need help. Any help out there?

thats an odd 1 ... now here is a question ... does it have a safety for starting in gear ?

not that I know of. Just recently started doing it

Need to include Year make and model !! I know that a Rancher is a Honda but some don`t ! What year is it ?

yes .. thats the safety .. i would clean the connections on the brake switch plug and any of the connections on the brake light wiring and any other connections (wire plug connections ) on it that you can find and see if that will help ... my 350 rancher did this a time or 2 and i found corrosion (green gunk) in the connections and it quit after cleaning ... the brake switch may also be dirty and corroded ...

if you can find some electric grease and put it in toyr plugs and lightly on the contact areas it will help it not to happen again ... corrosion on electric parts and contacts is the biggest cause of problems on atv's .. it should be the first place people should look at for problems like this ...

Apparently that was the problem area. I removed the connections, cleaned and put back on..Problem solved.. Thanks for your help. Saved me a few bucks I"m sure.
