i have a artic 400 that has been setting up for approx. a year or so. when i parked it, it ran fine and never had any serious problems until now. it has approx. 900 miles on it. i just recently pulled it out and began riding again. it has now began to smoke alot. just wondering if i need to go ahead and have the top rebuilt or any suggestions.

well it could be several problems from sitting.... i fuel can be bad .. but that wont cause it to smoke very much...,the seales on the valves can be cracked and worn ... the rings can be worn or stuck some what in the groves on the piston from sitting causeing the smoking... if the air filter is very dirty it can cause it to suck oil from the crank case an smoke also... i wouls check the easy things to fix first then go from there ...

Just aquired this Honda 4514. I had heard of them and seen them but had never really looked at one. Amazing machine from the 90s.
It has a 14 HP inline 2 cylinder engine. A cute little fan like the old school cars had and a little radiator. It has a timing belt on the back of the engine running the cam and a water pump. Just like a miniature car engine with  electronic clutches to turn blades on and off. Pretty hight tech for the 90s not a small thing and built like a tank weighs in at 600 pds hydrostatic trans. I have found out that almost anything you have to do to it the engine has to come out starter timing belt water pump. Very expensive parts i think most got junked for that reason, i did find out they were built by John Deere except for the honda engine.
Does anyone here have any expierience with these.

Just purchased this 4 wheeler in June, now I need to replace 1 wheel bearing, 2 boots (on rear), figure just do both sides bearing & boots. Was told it had 2" lift kit on it.Read some where might need to get different boots since lift. Want to do upper & lower. Any suggestions on how to tell if it's lifted & boots I need?
