Had clutches apart when reringed engine. Now when I come t a stop there is a clanging noise coming from housing It also seems like something doesn't disengage when I come to a stop. It doesn't do it as much if I bring the rpm up a tad when I stop. I read from an old post to clean everything with brake clean. I'm going to try that first, but if anyone has any other Ideas like to hear them. Thanks Bob.

Does it sound like a bell ringing? Sometimes when you stop suddenly the belt wedges in-between the plates and holds the primary open allowing the clutch to make noise. To me it sounds like a bell through the snorkels.

I would also pull the cover and make sure the primary and secondary nuts are tight, they should have been put in place with red loctite.

If the engine stalls there is definately a problem. Check the two bolts that hold the clutch on. That is the most common problem with them backing off. If this is the case be careful if you still choose to run it so you don't crack the cases.

It could also be the rollers sticking but I doubt it.

Take the clutch cover off, remove the clutches, clean everything with brake cleaner and then reinstall the clutches with red loctite to about 250 ft lbs of torque (check the repair manual for exact number).

Did I mention that I also replaced the timing chain when I put the new rings in? That means I had to remove the wet clutch and one-way bearing. Green dot out Bobski. I had the one way bearing backwards. Hope I didn't riun the bearing, might order new one just to be safe. Hope my mistake helps others. Thanks for your insight.

What is the benifit of leaving that bearing out? I read that alot of riders take it out.

It eliminates engine braking. Personally I like engine braking, but if you don't, remove the bearing.

Anybody familiar with this noise from my quad? Just started.  It temporarily goes away when I attempt to shift into another gear but shifting has gotten harder too.

      Thanks

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have Grizzly 700 that has been pretty much totaled out in a bad accident, but it will still run and drive good...
Will this engine swap into any of the Yamaha UTV's like thr rhino and Viking 700's?
Was just going to sell it as is for a engine for someone who needs one pretty cheap..but been thinking about getting a UTV for the family and maybe find one with a blown engine cheap and swap it out
I already an excellent shape 2001 Big Bear 400 4x4 for us..but kinda been looking for a good used UTV for us and the grandkids on our property to play with
Not sure of the year..i can't remember what year it was when i picked it up for a buddy a few years ago..he went to jail after he totaled this thing and told me to pick up a few things at his house he was renting and just keep them for myself since he owed me a bunch of money before the landlord sent them to the dump...
The first picture is when i went and picked it up for him..second is how it is now..frame is all twisted up and plastics are fubarred..going to sell the rims and tires.they stick out way too wide on my Big Bear

FYI: I used a volt meter to test the stator/rotor output. Pulled the plug on the rectifier/regulator to access the 3 wires coming from the stator. The other 2 wires are 12v pos and negative so easy to identify the 3 stator wires, which are yellow on my Kowhockey. You should see around 30v AC not DC coming from the engine stator. Test all three wires to EACH OTHER not ground. Remember the stator puts out AC like an alternator. The rectifier converts the AC into DC to charge the battery. On my case the rectifier/regulator was bad, obvious because the 3 stator wires showed 30v AC
