no spark on a bike that age might be the stator, and the carb i'm sure would love to be torn apart and cleaned, even a rebuild kit for an added touch ... i did the exact same thing when i got my '91 big bear ...

The manual was a great help thanks again ,i did all the required checks to rule out every thing except the cdi box the machine will start and run great and then just stop running ,when this happens the spark and the fuel pump power disappears ,then without touching anything ,meaning wiring connectors i turn on the key push the start button and it might start it might not,I always thought the cdi box was either good or not good everything is leading toward that box ,I hate to buy one one not knowing for sure if it is that,where is the best price for these other than honda ,thanks again

ebay is a good spot. honda brand at discounted price. yah, anything electrical you buy is non returnable to the dealers. you could check a dealer to see if they have a cdi to try already used. another thing is an atv boneyard. these salvage yards are becoming more popular now ....

Looking for the Honda Recon 2005-11, unless you know the how many turns out the fuel air mixture screw should be on a 2008...
