ok well im new to the 450r ive had a 300ex an old big red 3-wheeler and a kawi. mojave 25o(big p.o.s. ever) but my questions about the 450r are prettty simple its got a full fmf exhuast and axle, bearings, sprockets and im not sure what else i got it the way it is but when i ride it when i let off the throttle it pops back thru the exuast im just wonderin if thats cheap gas or supposed to be that way or what its the first quad ive had that actually has some real power and upgrades so im just looking for info lol thanks for th help

If its not backfiring and its just popping its not really a big deal, and pretty normal. Most 450r's do that, if you really don't like it you can put a richer pilot jet in though. (that's what i did, stopped the popping that i hated so much..)

thats exactlywhat its doin is poppin once or twice when i let off from high throttle i was just wondering if it was a major problem or not it doesnt really bother me much tho lol.. another question tho i know these 450rs dont really like to run at low seepds and lug around trails but would that couase it to just cut off goin down the trail i was following my buddy and he was riding like a baby haha and my bike kept cutting off i was just wonderin why it was doin that?

If you are running to lean and putting around on the trails your quad is poss getting the fuel to hot in the carb. My buddies does that. He richened up the air fuel mixture and was fixed.

Hijacked - What should the EGT be on a Honda 400EX with the a/f mixture set correctly? I have a non contact thermometer I use to find non firing cylinders on diesels. Was wondering if I can use it for my quad.

Ok guys Ive got a few more for ya.
      TIRES:
Ive thought about getting new rubber for the wheeler it has some half worn down 25" Kenda executioners on it and Id like to get something that maybe rides a little better and does as good or better in the mud if thats an option. Any tire model suggestions? Also I would like to go to a 27" or mayb e even a 28" are there any disadvantages to doing this would I have to change anything on the wheeler to make up for the larger tires? Ive had a couple people tell me that they would be hard on the clutch.
      WHEELS:
Ive seen some really nice looking aluminums but not sure they are tough enough to handle trail riding...Are they??? If so what would you reccommend, id like a little off set to give it a slightly wider stance and better stability but a buddy has a set of ITP wheels and the rear is offset a lot compared to the frnt and it looks great but hes constantly getting the back wheels hung up on trails
      SNORKEL:
I see that the airbox on the brute is where a normal wheelers gas cap would be, so that being said am I good to go with water as long as it doesnt go over that point os is it not sealed up to the box? Also how about the belt and it staying dry, do I need to do anything to ensure that it doesnt get soaked and leave me stranded.
Oh by the way I love this thing the more I ride it the more Im glad I went with the powerhouse, Ive run with a couple polaris 500s 700s a grizzly 660, and 700 and a couple rincon 680s that were built and they cant touch my stock 750, although she likes her gas thats for sure i got about 50miles and Im needing a refill

Hello, im looking for some input on this situation i have. My 94 Mojave has no spark, and i have no idea what it is. Ive replaced/tested the magneto, the pickup coil, cdi, the ignition coil. Even the key and Killswitch. I haven't tested the harness its self, but i have tried another harness and still nothing. The only thing i can think of is the fly wheel itself. I have found a lot of metal shavings in the fly wheel and have cleaned it the best I could. But nothing happened afterwards. I am truly stumped here and hoping some of yous could shed some knowledge/ideas that could help get this thing to fire.

Hello, what is the best method for installing bearings into their race? I've set one in place and tapped it down until it was metal on metal. Is that sufficient? Surely it's not supposed to go into the race until flush? Also. does the coil spring on the seal go into carrier bearing housing not facing out? Thanks! 🙂 Seal goes in until flush correct?

Recently bought a Polaris 425 Xpedition. Main issue is that the quad randomly misfires sometimes. ONLY does it at idle. Everything sounds good. What should I look for? Haven't checked the plug, seems a bit hard to get to, not sure. Headlights flicker at idle as well, is this a sign of a weak stator? Help?
