1995 Suzuki LT-F4WDX - Electrical Problem?

Hey everyone! I hope someone can help me out.

I have a 95 LT-F4WDX that I have been having a strange problem with. It starts & idles perfectly but when I try to rev it up it spits & sputters. I found about 2 weeks ago that when I turned the switch to "headlights on" it ran fine. That worked for a few days but then I had to position the beam selector switch in the middle of high/low beam for it to run right. That worked for about two days, now it must be on low beam & it has to warm up for about 15 - 20 minutes before it will run ok. When switched to high beam, the lights go out & it dies. It seems to me like it needs to have a load to keep running right.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Well I took the entire body off and went through every wire I could find and they all look good. Took apart and cleaned all connections and it still does the same thing. A friend said it could be the voltage regulator. Thoughts on this? Could a faulty regulator cause symptoms like this?

Sounds like you have some wire chaffing going on start chasing wires and cleaning conections you will find it. print off a wiring scematic.

Ok, apparently a voltage regulator/rectifier can cause this?

I checked the battery voltage with the key off & it read 14.5. I turned the key on but not the bike & it slowly dropped to 12.8 and stayed. When I started the bike it immediatly shot up to 19+ volts. I unhooked the regulator/recitifier, started the bike and it read a steady 13.4 & seemed to rev up and run fine.

My king quad 700 runs rough when cold then won't start some times but not often when it's hot. And occasionally smoke's a lot when it's cold I'm guessing that's rings but I'm worried unless it's causing the other problems

I did a compression test on my 2005 Bombardier Traxter 650 CVT and it's 75 PSI.  service manual only talks about leak down test.  No specification for engine compression the manual.  What does 75 PSI tell me?  Thank in advance.

A little history of this machine.  640 miles.  Picked it up about 2 years ago, not running. Probably the computer.  Tested all circuits and confirm it was the computer.  Long story short, I watched a Youtube video and fixed the computer. ATV now started and runs.  BUT, it tops out 20 MPH.  I cleaned the carb 3 times also using a Mikuni carb kit after the second time.  Slide in carb is going up and down.  Only adjustment for fuel is at 1.5 turns out.  NGK Sparkplug had soot on main part but brown on the electrode.  Champion sparkplug is brown.  I check CVT clutches and they both appear to engage like they suppose to.  Checked valve clearance it's 0.00, I can't get any feeler gauges in-between.  I check timing chain I believe it's in the correct position and hasn't skipped.  I removed muffler plug and drilled into muffler to try and make sure it wasn't plugged.

From Arkansas. Just bought a 2012 Gator 850i RSX because I could not pass up the price. BUT it has an idle problem. So, to be honest, I joined just to get a service manual. I have a choice: 1)Buy a hard copy: ~$100; 2)Buy a CD ~$35.00; Get a direct download for free posting 10 times; or get a download for $29.00 (subscription). Haven't decided what to do yet.

Sorry I suck at these forums so if you see this submitted under update status, my bad. Anyhow this is a new shock for a 96 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 it fits my 96 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 4x4 perfectly. Little narrower are the bottom than the original but everything else is perfect. I extended it to almost a half in from full extension because I’m pushing 350 pounds.  It rides and hold me well. So if any of y'allRace driven shock. have been looking for one and didn’t want to do the research here it is.
